About
Located in Nuevo Vallarta, El Tigre Club de Golf enjoys views that stretch to the western Sierra Madre. The design team of Robert Von Hagge, Mike Smelek, and Rick Baril transformed what used to be a flat piece of land into a lush, tropical paradise. Nine water features were added, which come into play on 12 holes, and the terrain was molded and contoured to provide interesting elevation changes. The golf course's proximity to the ocean means that it is also subject to strong prevailing winds, especially in the early evening. The course finishes with two of its most difficult holes. El Tigre Club de Golf's par-3 17th has plenty of sand and water in play to prepare you for the beastly par-5 finishing hole. This 621-yard monster is practically a par 6 with water down the entire left side and a green surrounded by sand.

Golfer Reviews
Great layout, bad pace of play!
Unfortunately, there is no good management of starting play and on the course to keep the pace. Too many twosome at critics hours
Tough day of golf
Greens could have used a little moisture. Very fast and difficult to get a ball to stay on the greens. Might be a little more forgiving in the morning
Beautiful course
Not the greatest condition and oversold, 45 minute delay when we arrived due to being oversold
New rental clubs needed
Very disappointing experience. Expectations were a lot higher based on price. The course wasn’t in great shape - hardly any grass to hit off of. We rented clubs and they must have been a couple decades old. Will not be going back.
Deception
Groups of 5 players accepted ahead of us. Impossible to finish the round (16/18), even with 4 1/2 hours of daylight ahead of us. It should never happens on a course like this, at this range of price.
Reservation Mess Up and Poor Greens
Have played this course several times previously but not since 2020. Started with tee time screw up, tee time via GolfNow was 1:20pm and arrived at course to find tournament going on with tee times till 1:50pm. Course management blamed it on GolfNow but who knows who is to blame. Finally tee offed around 2:00pm and crawled our way around the course. Fairways were average at best but was really surprised by the poor condition of several of the greens with reasonably large dirt patches. Have never experienced the greens at the course in such poor condition. Hopefully the course condition improves in the future since I enjoy the layout, however will not be returning until conditions pick up!
El Tigre - Good Value at Golf Now!
Great Course, can lose a lot of balls so come with lots. The only place to buy balls in Mexico is at the course and it is expensive. Golf Now prices are good but this is not a $200 round course if you are paying full price at the course. Enjoyed our round and would definitely go back booking through GolfNow..
