El Tigre Club de Golf
About
Located in Nuevo Vallarta, El Tigre Club de Golf enjoys views that stretch to the western Sierra Madre. The design team of Robert Von Hagge, Mike Smelek, and Rick Baril transformed what used to be a flat piece of land into a lush, tropical paradise. Nine water features were added, which come into play on 12 holes, and the terrain was molded and contoured to provide interesting elevation changes. The golf course's proximity to the ocean means that it is also subject to strong prevailing winds, especially in the early evening. The course finishes with two of its most difficult holes. El Tigre Club de Golf's par-3 17th has plenty of sand and water in play to prepare you for the beastly par-5 finishing hole. This 621-yard monster is practically a par 6 with water down the entire left side and a green surrounded by sand.

Needs work
I like this course. It is too bad that the greens and sand traps need work. After they get the sand in the traps to be consistent (some were like concrete and some had gravel) and repair the greens (looks like a blight killed sections of grass), I will return and try it again.
Always a challenging course
Some of the greens were patchy in places but still ran true.
Good condition, interesting layout. Greens ran fast enough and true but a little patchy. A course I would recommend.
Nice course
Course had been aerated recently. Greens were a little bumpy but mostly grown in. Fairways still had not grown back in yet
Nice driving range with balls included in green fees
GPS on carts really helps on new course
Rental clubs were Titleist and in good shape
Course has water on almost every hole and is good test
Dog leg left or right on almost all holes
Overall nice course and would play again
Challenging layout
Challenging layout and staff was excellent. Course was very dry and needed water to make it worth the price we paid.
Greens being worked on
We played there after they had done work on the greens. The holes punched where the biggest I have ever seen, made it impossible to get a role on the ball. Somewhat disappointing. Would have been good to get a warning. Not worth the money. Double check green condition before committing.
Pricey for what it is..
Bought a round for 2 on golf now hot deal for $90 each. If I would have paid full price it would have been 2 stars max. I felt it was over priced at 90 and would have been criminal to pay 160 or whatever it was.
Greens had been punched within the past few weeks and had not healed yet(but I knew that going in) the bunkers were abysmal. I would look somewhere else for sure
Lied about greens
Asked when we got there if they were plugging the greens and was told that they were done 10 days ago. There was quarter inch of sand on some of them. I would not have paid $165 if I had know that.
Greens punched
Greens were punched 7 days previous to our round. Golf now did not mention this fact Greens were not very puttable and were not sanded properly. I get that greens need to be punched but they should tell you before for book your tee time. A little disappointed
Great layout and value
The course was well worth the $160 price tag given the cost of other upscale courses in PV.
The conditioning was extremely good and the outside serve folks friendly and helpful.
Great Course
I had my best round I have ever had. it was hot, windy but fun! So fun, I played it again, the very next day... I highly recommend this course over others in PV.
