Great deal
This is a very interesting and challenging course , recently acquired by Hard Rock. Many dog legs and small green with many tight holes makes it mandatory to be fairly straight.
Very scenic with lots of Local fauna , very serviceable staff and great deal includes all you can eat and drink including drinks cart and club him use bar and retardant. Definitely worth going !! Bring extra balls and play the proper tees to make it fun.
Mr c hardman
We're do I start got to the course on arrival stall wasn't very friendly booked an all inclusive round of golf which includes food and drinks
Booked in hit a few balls on the practice range then got interrupted by a member of staff to go and play with another two customers
Played the round all the greens have been cut and dressed the ball was bobbling all over the place when putting
The buggy man with the refreshments which was a nice touch
Finished the round went in to the club house for my meal which was included in the price only to be told that the kitchen was shut wouldn't mind I only wanted a sandwich as had nothing much to eat that day
Over all the course would be nice at its peak condition and the staff where more friendly wouldn't play there again
Be prepared!
The course is difficult with narrow fairways and very small greens. It is set in the jungle so it is filled with wildlife. The course was in overall good condition and it's priced fair if you can get a deal under 100.00
My main complaint is that we didn't go prepared with golf balls, gloves and we rented clubs. The clubs are Callaway at a 50:00 rental fee. When I asked about purchasing balls I was shocked when they told me the price sold only by a sleeve for 16.00 for a precept up to 27.00 for a Bridgestone 330 PER SLEAVE!! 3 balls for 27.00 that's $108.00 per dozen so if you play here BE PREPARED with all of your goodies.
Decent course
I've played this course several times. Not much has changed under the Hard Rock branding. New signage is about it. The course is typical of a resort course in this area. Fairly generous fairways, but you are in the jungle if you miss. Course was in good condition. Played 18 holes in 3 1/2 hours. Will play here again.
Good for the Golf Now Price
Challenging course with numerous dog legs. Great price from Golf Now allowed a foursome to play for under $400. Food at the turn was good, however when on the 10th Tee box, watch out for the Coatis, they will steal your food. They should try to train them to retrieve golf balls from the jungle! Great time had by all. Extremely humid and warm but most enjoyable.

I wish I could tell you that this round was one for the ages but if I did, it would be one to forget. From the moment I booked until I finally T'd off, I had nothing but grief. This is a caution to anyone who is promised transfers to and from the Hotel !!! Be sure you reserve your Transfers as soon as you book as they require 48 hr advanced notice. Once you book your round print out a hard copy of the email request because you will have to prove that an email was sent. I came from Cancun and the course is some 80 kms away, so transfers to and from are paramount otherwise you are paying an extra $160.00 US for cab rides which sort of nullifies the $96.00 US online discount !!! It would seem that they do not like picking up golfers so far away so they have cleverly set up all contact info in a way that makes it impossible to reach them, even for your local hotels. What they have done is set up a ghost email(s) address(s) that are supposed to forward all emails to the real address which never happens. They do that so that your email never comes back undelivered and you go on your merry way believing that your email was sent and recieved. The day I woke up to play, (at 1:00 pm) I started at 8:00 am until noon trying to confirm my transfers. The phone number they post is out of service so your Hotel has no way to reach them. I finally decided to roll the dice and grab a cab hoping they would do what "Riviera Cancun Golf Course" did and pay for the cab fare and shuttle me back to my Hotel. Once I arrived however, they were playing the 48 hr advanced notice card saying they never recieved my request while admitting they were using ghost email addresses (amazing). It wasn't until I told them that I wouldn't stay and play that they changed their tune. The manager came down, admitted the miscommunications were their doing and payed the cab fare and promised to take me back to my hotel. Well what they didn't tell me was that the shuttle service was leaving at 6 pm and I was Teeing off at 2:15. When we finished our round at 6:30, I was politely told that I had missed the shuttle bus and had to pay my own way back to Cancun. I was not a happy man and I don't think anyone else would have been either. Unless you are staying in Playa De Carmen, I would not recommend this jaunt if you are coming from Cancun. It would appear that they have deciept and ambush down to a fine science. I did however make the most of my situation and took advantage of the open bar. I did have an excellent time no thanks to the course !!! I hooked up with 2 Montreal Canadiens fans and enjoyed thrashing them on every hole.....at least some of us Maple Leafs still want to win !!! lol . From a golf point of view, it wasn't the worst course I have ever played and some of the holes were alot of fun. If you like snakes and ladders this place is for you. No shortage of blind shots at all !! Course management a must here !! Pretty track but tight, narrow, twisting fairways was what stood out the most. Greens were the smallest I have ever seen so bring your (dart) game. I would give the course a generous "6" only because I had so much fun. But if you want to get respect as a customer and a golfer, you won't find it here. It is just a matter of time before it catches up with them !!! Hopefully by then, they will realize that it's the customers who keep the business going.....who knows ???? Kevin from Toronto

Small greens
Fun to play , you need to manage tee shots to score well

Kallista, mutta kokemisen arvoista. Muista golfnow.
Decent Course
This course is challenging for a first time player because they do not provide a course guide and there are many doglegs. If you do not have a rangefinder or GPS it will be even tougher since many times you will not want to hit driver. The course is fairly narrow so if you are not straight, many balls will go into the jungle - bring extra balls. Pace of play was awesome - I was paired up with another single and finished in about 3 hours. I also played in Cancun at Rivera and that course was better on all aspects.
I would play here again if I could get a deal but would likely look at some of the others in the area that seem better. The main reason I booked this round was price and it included round trip transportation (they pick you up at your hotel) since I did not have a car. Even though it didn't specify on Golfnow, it seems that all rounds included food/beverage which is a nice perk.
Great Value
I stayed at a house down the street, they came and picked me up and dropped me off at the front door. It's all inclusive with the tee time, so drinks, snacks and food are included. The course is tight, so bring your straight clubs or extra balls. Played it again since it was so close.
Always a Challenge
This course is really well designed, scenic and feels secluded even though it's in the middle of the Playacar resort area. The mounds along the fairways, (a Von Hagge favorite ploy) make accuracy off the tee a must. Thankfully the local rule is to play all jungle areas as lateral hazard.
Staff is very friendly and the all-inclusive beverage cart and 19th hole are a nice touch. Just a pleasant place to play.
Good conditions and a challenge
the conditions of the fairways and greens were very acceptable. The fairways were tight and greens small, so very much a target course you need to play a few times to score well. Only pulled the driver out 3 times.
Another Dogleg?
This is a tough course to play your first time, especially without a caddie. Lots and lots and lots of doglegs, which isnt a big deal, if you know where you need to hit the ball. The conditions were good, the staff was friendly, and It was a pretty good challenge. The course was tight off the tees, really small greens and littered with water and bunkers. All in all it was an enjoyable day on the course. Id certainly play here a second time, knowing what I know now.
Only I wasnt impressed with was Callaway X Hot 2 as the only choice for rentals, but thats just me.
Great day
Course staff were great greens on really slow side other then that was great glad I booked all my golf in Mexico through golf now was way cheaper then through resort
Go if you get a deal
Visited the area for the last 15 years but never managed to play here. Finally got on for a very good online special price. All-inclusive, so go early to eat & drink, drink on the course, then finish up with another meal & drinks if you want! Top shelf included!
Conditions were very good contrary to what others wrote. Bermuda grass grabs the ball so open up that face.
If the wind is up, play from the shorter tees. We moved up on back nine after struggling on the front. Plus look closely at all the sharp doglegs. Most every hole radically turned right or left. Keep it in play and you'll do fine. Not always a driver off the tee. Greens were flat & rolled true. Don't over-read the break...it's not there like other area courses.
Go, eat, drink, play!
Challeging course with spectacular wildlife
Course was quite challeging. Shaping the ball is a must or you will spend quite a bit of time in the jungle. The wild life was amazing. First time playing at an all inclusive golf course. The restaurant needs some serious improvement. Food scared the living day lights out of my wife and I. Frozen burgers out of a plastic bag. Staff was very friendly and attentive. Overall we had a great time.
The course was in excellent condition.
The staff was friendly and very accommodating. The course was in great shape. It was our first time and will book again.
Not very fun at all
Too many short doglegs. No help with yardages. Poor service in club house. Pretty much the least fun I have ever had playing golf. I hit the ball well but with no idea of hole layouts or yardages, it made it impossible to hit fairways and greens. Bring your GPS.
Bring extra balls
The course is beautiful but narrow with a nice variety of features and hazards. The all inclusive feature of the greens fee was a nice surprise. A very nice experience overall even though I did not shoot a good score.
Disappointed
We were not happy with the overall booking of this trip. First of all, when we booked on Golfnow it clearly stated that transportation would be provided. When I called the golf club we were told otherwise. Then we were told, you mean you didn't read the fine print? I didn't think I had to the the free icon was part of the package. So, buyer beware read everything. Now onto the golf course itself. We when arrived at the pro shop to check in we had another little surprise. What we thought was a $230 round ended up being $250. Apparently, they only have one type of golf club to rent which turns out to be more expensive. At the started gate we ask for some towels due to the humidity and because I forget my glove. We were told they didn't have any, which is not a problem except for the fact that they had a new bundled up package of towels behind them. Not sure what that was all about. We saw the beverage cart only once throughout the 9 holes which was not good. The food was average at best and the value of this course was not even close. I'll never be back, it simply isn't worth it for the money. They do have a pretty good twilight rate without the "all-inclusive" price tag..overall very disappointed.
