Marina Vallarta Golf Club is known for its stunning tropical landscape that is home to an abundance of wildlife. Golfers have the opportunity to play amongst iguanas and alligators while enjoying scenic views of the Bay of Banderas. The course is blessed with a bevy of natural hazards including towering palm trees, lagoons, and waterfalls. Colorful tropical flowers and native vegetation further accent the landscape. In addition to the natural hazards, there are also a few strategically placed bunkers along the greensides. The golf course offers a challenging but fair test that is not overly demanding, which is probably for the best since it is easy to get distracted by the beautiful surroundings. Given its versatility and scenery, Marina Vallarta G.C. has become a popular venue for various golfing events, including the Governor's Cup Pro/Am Tournament.

Marina Vallarta in July

The weather was hot and muggy, but that was expected in July. There were very few people on the course, so the pace of play was excellent. The staff was very polite and accomodating. All 4 of us rented clubs, the rentals were certainly functional, if not outstanding. The course had recently been aerated and appreciated getting a discount on the greens fees due to that. Did NOT realize in advance about the crocodiles everywhere, but that added to the experience.

The Marina Course is Looking Better

New carts with GPS control has things looking a lot better.

The greens were just punched and were nice and soft. Even so, putts still rolled fairly consistently. The greens will be incredible once they mend from the maintenance.

This is a narrow course that plays hard but the wildlife and ocean views make it worthwhile.

You cannot beat the price especially if you are staying in the Marina area..

Barely worth Twilight Rates

I had a free day of unplanned golf (played Norman at Vidanta yesterday and playing Nicklaus at Vista tomorrow) so I chose Marina based on recent reviews of good conditions. Say what?? Course is completely dried out more than 2 yards on either side of the crazy narrow fairways. I played the ball down for the first 3 holes then decided to at least find grass to hit off of each shot so the round could be somewhat enjoyable. Greens are in ok shape (a few were bad though) and extremely inconsistent from hole to hole in terms of speed. Entire place looks like it was built 75 years ago and has never been updated. I would equate the facility and conditions to a below average muni course in California. Golf carts are nearly falling apart, likely beat up by the awful cart paths.

Bring lots of balls if you aren’t a single handicapper. Over half the greens are surrounded by water and the fairways are 20 yards wide with OB everywhere. Very, very tough course. Not recommended for the casual golfer.

Staff was nice and the bar was really nice as well with good prices. Perhaps I was a little spoiled from the previous day round at Vidanta, but the courses are priced almost identically which just blows my mind. Marina has lots of water hazards around the course, but very little water is put ON the grass of the course unfortunately.

My advice, avoid this place unless you don’t have other options.

Beautiful Course. Rental a little steep

Everything about this place is stunning. It's right on the ocean, right in the middle of these little old school mini mansions and it's somewhat tough to play but I like the challenge. I found the rental to be a little expensive. The clubs were only 60 bucks but three sleeves of balls were right at $50. And I needed to buy a glove which was another 40. I played Twilight so the green fees weren't so bad. All in all it cost me $180. Not bad but the round only cost $65...

nice course for the $

Wonderful jungle motif with alligators. Interesting layout. The course has come along way since I last played it 30 years ago. Nothing but better in every category. Wish the greens were a little faster but the putting is true if not on the slow side.

Very nice people and chill vibe I like

Challenging Course

Fairways are tight.Several water holes on the back nine. Well trapped. Course is flat but the holes have variety. All the Vallarta courses are pricy. This course is better than most.

Chubbs would be proud

Not sure why I saw this course get a bad wrap online. Amazing experience with beautiful views, especially on the Par 3, 4th hole as you can see below. I think some of you guys prefer to shoot in the 100s somewhere that looks the Garden of Eden. If so this fits the bill, I’ll be back. Cheers gentlemen
