Good course, nice pace of play, beautiful scenery - and crocs!

Second time playing during my week stay in Puerto Vallarta. Fun course. Fairways and greens in good condition. Crocks and other reptiles around course made for an exotic round of golf.

Course is a bit narrow with challenges. Water on a number of holes. A beautiful ocean hole, overall a very good course. Many crocs on the course but they have no interest in golfers. Fun day.

The course was very nice. Reptiles on course was exciting. Only negative I have is they charged 55 dollars to have my girlfriend ride in the cart with me and she didn’t even play. I didn’t think this was right.

This course needs a major upgrade. The quality of the fairways, bunkers, and greens are shockingly in need of attention especially for the premium green fees being charged. The cart paths are disintegrating too. Not surprising there were so few people on the course.

I played this course numerous times over the past two months. It is a very good course with wonderful conditions and limited play, especially on weekdays.. Some of this I'm sure is impacted by the pandemic, but for some reason Pto Vallarta does not seem to be a golf destination. If you like speedy rounds, you will be in heaven here. It is very conveniently located in the Marina area between Pto Vallarta and the Nayarit hotel areas, and also not far from the airport. The course is flat and the holes weave through apartment and condos for the most part. It generally has tight fairways and the small greens are undulating and well bunkered. The open areas near the green tend to be mounded which makes it difficult to use the ground game. There is a fair amount of water and at times it seems like you are playing golf in a wildlife park. Crocodiles, iguana, sea turtles, birds of various varieties will all be a part of your round. The par 3 #4 is along the beach and the only time you come close to the ocean. Marina Vallarta is a fun and challenging golf course.. My only negatives are: 1.) for a course charging up to $100+, forcing you to buy drinking water seems a little cheap in my mind, and 2.) do not use your American Express card to pay for your round. They charge a 10%+ surcharge (not disclosed) to use these cards due to inflated exchange rates charged when they convert to pesos. American Express cards can only be processed in pesos. Use a MasterCard or Visa which can be processed in US dollars with no surcharge.

Actually the course has a decent layout but there are no distance markers (a few)

In PV for January vacation, played Marina yesterday and today. Great course with challenging hazards (crocodiles on site!),... many thanks to Javier for his eagle-eye caddy skills and knowledge. Greens are fast, so putt carefully..
