Vista Vallarta Golf Club - The Weiskopf Course
About
Vista Vallarta Golf Club offers two championship courses, one designed by Jack Nicklaus and the other by Tom Weiskopf. The Weiskopf Course provides a dramatically different round from the Nicklaus design. The other golf course sits atop the property's highest elevation while this one is situated at the lower west end. As you step onto the course and see the dense jungles that sprawl across deep ravines, you will hardly believe that it is still the same property. It offers the same level of challenge as the Nicklaus Course but some high handicappers prefer this one since there are fewer blind shots and the greens are more receptive, making them not quite as tricky. The 15th is an uphill par 3 that is probably the golf course's most memorable hole. This challenging hole requires a carry past a ravine to multi-tiered green that is surrounded by bunkers on all sides.

Great course
I’ve played this course quite a few times over the last ten years and love it
One Of My Favorites
The Course is great fits My eye I prefer it Over the Nicklaus Course. Tighter Off the TEE THAN THE Nicklaus Course But More Fair and Not as Tough. The Greens are Challenging But Nothing like the Nicklaus Course. We Took a Caddy This Time. The Only Need for a Caddy is to Read the greens. With the Mountains and water the toughest challenge for Both Courses is the Green reading and the Caddy wasn’t very helpful in his greens, After 10 holes I was ignoring him going on my own. Definitely worth playing both Courses.
Weiskopf Design are the best in the west
Great layout in an unbelievable environment with lots of greenside contours. Greens are very receptive, fast, and not easy to read with the mountain and strong grain.
I would be a member at this course with is in my Top 10 courses I ever played after 40 years as a Pro.
Great condition and facilities
I have played both Vista courses a number of times and always enjoy the experience. Vista Vallarta has the best practice facilities in Puerto Vallarta, and the staff are always friendly. The Weiskopf course is the more picturesque of the two and has tee boxes for all abilities.
Another great round
We played Nicholas on Tuesday and Wiskof today. We enjoyed today more. Great well maintained course. Challenging but not stupidly so. Greens are tough but add to the fun. Staff excellent.
If you tee off early, you can order breakfast burritos from snack bar and they’ll bring them to you on then course.
Extra cost
We were quoted 75 per play but were charged 92 per player with no explanation. Course could not change and said it was a Golf Now issue
Don’t waste your time
Had higher expectations for this facility. After reading previous reviews I thought the course would be one of the best in PV. I will stick to the course as it was in very poor shape. Back 9 had some really silly designs putting trees in front of greens and giving you a ten yard window 100 yards out off the tee on a 400 yard par four. Fairways were long and the greens were slow. Save your money and go to the Vidanta courses. You may have to pay for a caddy but you will enjoy yourself which is more important.
Nice place but?
Don’t understand why I could not get a rain check when it started thundering and lightning after 13 holes. I guess I will try another one of the empty courses around Vallarta.
Nothing Special
The pace of play was great because they only had about 6 players all day. The conditions of the course were good but not great. The rental clubs provided are old beat up Taylormade Aeroburners that they charge $50 for, not worth it at all. The course is located 20-25 minutes from downtown and difficult to get to. The surroundings are what seem to be a dead vegetation jungle. If you can play punta mita courses I think you would be better off.
Well designed
Weiskof course blends into the natiral terrain and takes advantage of the rolls and gullies.
.lots of character and views
Thouroughly enjoyable at great golfnow rates.
