Vista Vallarta Golf Club - The Weiskopf Course
About
Vista Vallarta Golf Club offers two championship courses, one designed by Jack Nicklaus and the other by Tom Weiskopf. The Weiskopf Course provides a dramatically different round from the Nicklaus design. The other golf course sits atop the property's highest elevation while this one is situated at the lower west end. As you step onto the course and see the dense jungles that sprawl across deep ravines, you will hardly believe that it is still the same property. It offers the same level of challenge as the Nicklaus Course but some high handicappers prefer this one since there are fewer blind shots and the greens are more receptive, making them not quite as tricky. The 15th is an uphill par 3 that is probably the golf course's most memorable hole. This challenging hole requires a carry past a ravine to multi-tiered green that is surrounded by bunkers on all sides.

Extra cost
We were quoted 75 per play but were charged 92 per player with no explanation. Course could not change and said it was a Golf Now issue
Don’t waste your time
Had higher expectations for this facility. After reading previous reviews I thought the course would be one of the best in PV. I will stick to the course as it was in very poor shape. Back 9 had some really silly designs putting trees in front of greens and giving you a ten yard window 100 yards out off the tee on a 400 yard par four. Fairways were long and the greens were slow. Save your money and go to the Vidanta courses. You may have to pay for a caddy but you will enjoy yourself which is more important.
Nice place but?
Don’t understand why I could not get a rain check when it started thundering and lightning after 13 holes. I guess I will try another one of the empty courses around Vallarta.
Nothing Special
The pace of play was great because they only had about 6 players all day. The conditions of the course were good but not great. The rental clubs provided are old beat up Taylormade Aeroburners that they charge $50 for, not worth it at all. The course is located 20-25 minutes from downtown and difficult to get to. The surroundings are what seem to be a dead vegetation jungle. If you can play punta mita courses I think you would be better off.
Well designed
Weiskof course blends into the natiral terrain and takes advantage of the rolls and gullies.
.lots of character and views
Thouroughly enjoyable at great golfnow rates.
love this course
I come to PVR every year for the winter and always like to play this course at least once during my stay. Very pricey unless you use golfnow.com
This is my favorite course in Puerto Vallarta. Wish II could afford to play it more often.
Great course to play
Tees, fairways, and greens were great. The sand in the traps was excellent to hit out of. Pace of play was great. Puerto Vallarta needs to learn how to sell golf. All the courses here are too expensive and empty. Vista keeps the restaurant open longer than all the other courses which is nice for those of us that play in the afternoon. This is just a wonderful place to play golf.
Awesome place to play golf
Everything about this corse was awesome. The tees were great, the fairways were great and the greens were Super to putt on. The staff was Super and the cart girl was very friendly. Just had a great day.
Enjoyable Round
Golfed twilight. Was very enjoyable. No one pushing us. We could just enjoy the course. Greens were in great condition....but fast. Parts of the course seemed pretty dry. It could just be the normal weather for the season..
This course seems to be our favorite of the ones we have played this trip to PV.
Speedy Greens
If you don't mind hot weather, the course is wide open in the afternoons. We easily came in under 4 hours. Greens had just been cut and were hard and quite fast with a few challenging tiers and breaks. The carts don't have computers so a laser or the yardage book from the club house helps if you are playing the course for the first time because a few of the ravines are deceptively close (or far).
Excellent course design and true greens
What a nice change from the flat courses in Puerto Vallarta. I played the white tees and enjoyed the variety of challenges from the tees. Although some fairways were forgiving, many required a straight drive. The bunker placements were difficult and fair. Sand was of good quality. I really enjoyed the greens. Unlike El Tigre slow greens, these were a joy to play. They putted true. All I had to do was read hem correctly. I recommend learning the pace on the practice greens prior to playing.
