Fairway
The fairways were a work in progress with several area on each hole with recent work and dirt turned over for sprigging. Cut down on distance quite a bit if you hit into these areas
Horrible Conditions
I paid $65 for 1/3 of the course being re-sodded. Dirt and mud everywhere because of it, and ball would get stuck at landing point if it hit dirt on fairway. Should’ve been a $25 round.
Never Again
Booked a round for my boss and a couple friends on Good Friday. Wanted to play a good course. $70 a round with no warning that the majority of the course was underrepair. Every single hole was affected and not one word about the unplayability of the course. Spoke to the owner about the problem and not only was he completely unsympathetic, but he was a jerk about it on top of that.
Poor conditions
The entire course was being replanted with sod with no notice of it. Mud and dirt everywhere on about 40% of the course. Made balls stop mid way on the fairway.
Cow pasture
The course is to horrible they should let you play for free. I’d be what a waste of time and money it was today.
Fun layout, not in the best shape
The course has a fun layout, some challenging holes, and fun holes. The course had a good amount of bare patches and the greens weren't very smooth. After a good rain season and time to treat the greens this course has a lot of potential.
Played in MGA yesterday, great time! Largest MGA event in years! Great format, good time with fellow members.
OGC
Seems to be coming around. Greens are coming along. 7300 yards. Great practice area.
OMG
I’ve never played a course with tee boxes in this bad of conditions, the fairways weren’t much better , the greens were in really good shape
Nice weather!
It was great to see Split Rail buzzing with play this weekend! The weather and course combined for a great weekend of golf.
Good day of golf no matter what other say.
I read a review from 2 months ago when someone trashed the course because they didnt feel it was in PGA condition. I like the course very much due to the different challenges whether it be a hard pan lie or a thin lie or thick rough. The greens roll true and speed is fast. Golf was meant to be a challenge. This course is challenging and they have plenty of water in the ponds to help get it back into better shape this year.
A Good Challenge
once I arrived and checked in, the pro shop guys were very nice. Its been almost 2 years since I last played the course and it was exactly as I remembered. The fairways were wet due to recently melted snow which was expected. The sandtraps were in great condition to play out of I am sorry to say I hit a few of them. The greens had a good speed to them and in very good shape. Just a pleasure to play this course.
Still a great course
Great course for the price. Friendly staff, carts move along well enough, range is long and you can hit off grass. They have a big putting green and chipping area.
Sure there may be a few bare spots on the fairway and greens, just kick your ball over a few feet and keep on playing.
Greens continue to get better. Overall improvement is noticeable.
