The Golf Club at Dove Mountain - Wild Burro/Saguaro
About
Nestled in the desert foothills of the Tortolita Mountain Range, the 27 holes at The Golf Club at Dove Mountain feature dramatic elevation changes and stunning views. The three nines were all designed by Jack Nicklaus and are played in three different 18-hole combinations. The Wild Burro/Saguaro golf course combines Nicklaus' favorite nine, Wild Burro, with the front nine of the Accenture Match Play Championship. The golf course features intricately contoured greens and carefully placed fairway bunkers. The course plays through canyons and desert washes covered in centuries-old Saguaro cacti. The third, fourth and fifth holes on the Wild Burro nine are notably challenging with the third featuring an "island green" standing amidst sand and cacti.

Will definitely play it again.
I've been to the Tucson area many times but this is the first time I got to play this course. First, it is a long way up the mountains-it takes a while to get there and the signage isn't clear so if you go, there are several golf courses up there and this one is the farthest out. The course layout is great, really fun to play and you will use every club in your bag. Even though it's a 100 degrees, the course is in good shape but the greens are soft. The staff was friendly and helpful, provided water and the beverage cart was rolling. The views were beautiful and there is a bit of shade to pause a bit between holes to enjoy it. I'm regretting not passing on another Tuscon area resort course a few times to play this one before.
Great course
Beautiful course in the middle of the desert. Loved the golf cart that gives shot distance to green. Will play here again!
Dove Mountain Burro & Tortolita
The course fairways are sparse for grass and the greens are spongy. They need to water the fairways and do general maintenance on the course. Was disappointed with the conditions of the course since being a Ritz Carlton property would’ve expected more.
Disappointing
I realize my group played during the off season an got a great rate. Keeping that in mind, I still have to say the day was very disappointing.
Greeted by a nice young man at the bag drop, and a nice gentleman in the pro shop. After that, it was like we never existed. Two bottled waters in the cart was a nice touch. But on a 105*+ day, was not even close to being enough. There was no cart girl. We were told she was in the halfway house today. Locked up. NO water on the course. It was rough.
The condition of the course was awful. Bare spots, shaggy greens, concrete sand in the bunkers, etc. We were shocked.
Cart return, we were met by a sourpuss who did not offer to do anything. We were told to leave our carts there, then had to lug our bags to the bag drop with no help or offer of assistance.
Will not be returning.
Amenities
The cart “girl” was supposed to be on course or in snack shack. She was a no show at both. Never saw her for 18 holes.
also the GPS was way off. Probably set for a different nine. Conditions were OK But was a problem clubBing next shot.
Course is in excellent shape.
How Bout a replay??? On you???
Not in good condition this time of year
Fairways like straw . Today was the worst condition I have played here. It was 105 degrees at 11:40 when I played. The course needs water. The best thing was the price 32.00 .
Tough course
The views from this course are unbeatable! A tough course, but worth it. It didn’t seem like there was a methodical approach to their tee times. We were on the box at 0630 and had a single behind us, with a twosome behind him l, followed by another twosome. Naturally we ( a foursome) were either pushed all day or let people play through. I wouldn’t pay $87 again to feel pushed for an entire round.
Tough without options
First time playing this course. The greens are placed in tough position to set up an approach. No marshaling to improve pace of play. The longest round in a couple years (4.5 hrs). Very hot so I've the course a break, had some dry spots.
Good Course.
For this time of year, course was in good shape. Greens were in excellent shape. Today, I did not have my A game and the course beat me up pretty good. But I will be back again.
Enjoyed the course as usual.
Played Wild Burro and Saguaro. Wild Burro was in fair condition. Saguaro was in excellent condition (much better than Wild Burro) especially in August in Tucson. The greens on Saguaro were in excellent condition! The staff is very friendly and the price I paid was fantastic!
Golf Club at Dove Mountain
It is a beautiful area to play, but extremely difficult for a woman,
Hare and Golf Hair do care!
We have played this course 3 times this summer. Great summer rates. Love seeing the Jackrabbit 2 of the times we played! The carts are really comfortable. Helpful and friendly staff. One of my favorite courses.
Sad experience with course typically a must play
Greeted by a "need you guys to double up on the golf carts" after complaining that you can not social distance in golf cart was provided a cart.
Course tee to green condition worse we have ever seen, typically this time of year the bermuda fairways are thriving.
Bent grass greens lush, slowest putting greens we have played on all summer, we believe maybe they were not mowed, crazy how hard you had to hit your putt!
We were paired behind a 4 some that split into a 2 some at the turn, and we waited pretty much every shot even after they split up. The one 2 some played the same 9 again they did not even want to play with the other 2 guys.
We assumed they gave you bottle water if you asked, nothing was said to us when we started. there was no water on the course. We did see the cart girl twice.
Went into the restaurant area after round to have a nice pitcher of domestic draft beer and maybe something to eat, only premium beers and premium prices, total turn off, we did not stay. Guess they don't want us regular guys visiting or staying to eat or drink. We love the layout have played there several times and easily the most disappointing visit in all of our trips! Will be awhile before we return or recommend.
It’s the desert
Very difficult course. Very dry. I realize it’s late July in Southern Arizona, but this was extremely barren. The exception are the greens- great shape, kind of spongey, and I would say very slow. Very cool set up and design. I’ll be back for a more comfortable round during the winter.
