The Golf Club at Dove Mountain - Wild Burro/Saguaro
About
Nestled in the desert foothills of the Tortolita Mountain Range, the 27 holes at The Golf Club at Dove Mountain feature dramatic elevation changes and stunning views. The three nines were all designed by Jack Nicklaus and are played in three different 18-hole combinations. The Wild Burro/Saguaro golf course combines Nicklaus' favorite nine, Wild Burro, with the front nine of the Accenture Match Play Championship. The golf course features intricately contoured greens and carefully placed fairway bunkers. The course plays through canyons and desert washes covered in centuries-old Saguaro cacti. The third, fourth and fifth holes on the Wild Burro nine are notably challenging with the third featuring an "island green" standing amidst sand and cacti.

great golf course
It was recommended to me by several people and it lived up to the recommendation
Great layout
Greens are diabolical but the overall course is great
Nice Day
Tough course. Greens were firm, fairways were good, not great. SharkExperience was kind of a bust, TV/music/internet didn't work after about 5 holes due to lack of cell coverage.
Beautiful but tough course.
Great shape and pace was a little slow. Greens quick and landing areas wide. Undulations on greens are very difficult.
Play the correct tees.
This course will kick your butt even without wind. The greens have extreme slope and some will actually make putts go off the greens. If you are uphill of the pin, hit the ball at 10%-25% of normal. Have FUN!!
Wild Burro
Beautiful course,, challenging and long. I probably should have played from a closer tee box but I still enjoy ir.
the course was in perfect shape. the veiws from the course were outstanding.the only negative was the customer service. No starter or anyone to start the round had to find a worker to tell use which nine to play. No help with the onboard GPS which was not all that helpful. The Day was 87 degrees and we only saw a Drink cart once the entire round.
Dove Mountain Saguaro and Tinto
I was shocked at the condition of the course. Apparently the greens keeper did something different this year and the course is in low-grade muni-track condition. Most surprising, he was not fired. I had to roll the ball in the fairways on every hole and the greens were a mess with flowering Poanna creeping in everywhere (even in fringe areas). Overall, this is acceptable for a muni track in Tucson. It is not acceptable at a course like Dove Mt. where you drive out of the way to play and pay $200 a round. Apparently, the course is resting on its laurels from the old Wold Golf Match Play days and the Ritz Carlton associated premium. Extremely disappointed with my decision to play her in lieu of the Omni tracks at Tucson National or Vantana Canyon.
Perfect Golf day
Course is in a very Good condition and the Course Layout is challenging
Every hole has different vibe
Really enjoyed the variable terrains and challenging greens. Course was in terrific shape. The “Shark Experience/ment” was a dud. No yardage of how far tee shot went, pin placements were opposite of reality, no view of where other carts are, will avoid having to pay for it going forward.
Awesome
Most beautiful Course in Tucson/Marana area.....Always a friendly efficient and fun Staff......Luv it!
Beautiful course
This course although beautiful needs serious help. The grass conditions were not up to the green fees price. The fairways had been over seeded over an aeration which left so many good drives on tight bumpy lies. The greens were in dire need of water multiple greens had bald spots of dirt and had native grasses growing through it. There were so many greens where you could see countless pin replacement's due to being so bleached out. They would not hold a 62° wedge shot that landed a few feet from the pin.
Overrated - Poor Fairways
I've heard a lot of good things about this course, but they are overrated. The fairways are terrible. To say they are thin is an understatement. They are groves running thru every fairway. They did not use enough overseed. You cannot get a fair lie in the fairway making the course frustrating. The greens are so marked up from unrepaired ball marks. 12 of 18 pins were set 7-9 yds from the edge of greens to help improve ball marks. I felt like the golf course and the ownership took our money and never delivered us a fair value in exchange.
golf club at dove mountain is great
Everything about this course was excellent. Tees, fairways, bunkers, cart paths and greens were in excellent condition. The course layout is great. it is spread out like most courses in Tucson, but there were reasonable distances between greens and next tees. The women's tees were far enough ahead that it was very accommodating for women. The bathrooms on the course were frequent, well placed and really nice.
Happy hour drinks and appetizers were reasonably priced and very good.
Scenery is beautiful
The restaurant was great. Our meal was enough for 4 people. Awesome facility. Pro shop well stalked but over priced as usual. Staff was excellent. The fairways were awesome but the greens were rock hard, we couldn’t hold any of our approach shots. We found it odd that we couldn’t wash our golf balls at any of the holes or on the carts and there were no garbage cans that we could see. For the price charged, quite disappointed.
Ridiculous
When this course was designed they had a mean streak and made it as difficult as possible for some reason. Never seen so many bunkers and crazy trouble on the fairways. The greens did not have one flat spot on any of them.
Would never go back. I thought golf was suppose to be fun not a nightmare.
