About
Long and susceptible to the wind, White Stone Golf Club rolls through an impressive Hill Country-like setting with huge oak trees, lots of rocks, and loads of native oaks, cacti, yucca, and wildflowers.
Bunkers are everywhere on this 7,100-yard Jeff Brauer design, and water comes into play on about seven holes. The key to scoring well is keeping the ball below the hole, avoiding nasty downhill putts on the extremely fast greens. White Stone's par 5s are tough, and average golfers should probably play them conservatively and be happy just getting there in three, since three out of four are fronted by hazards and require carries.
On the front nine, no. 1 tests you early -- it’s a 555-yarder with a creek that crosses the fairway and forces a layup on the second shot. No. 9 is nice as well, a 360-yarder that should be played with a short iron to lay up in front of the creek. This hole features a nice dip in the center of the green that requires knowing the correct pin placement.
White Stone Golf Club's back starts strong like the front, opening with a 580-yard par 5 with a sloping fairway that is cut by the creek on two occasions. No. 11 is the best par 3 on the golf course -- a 200-yarder that plays dow hill over a creek and into a creek surrounded by bunkers.

Greens under conservatorship!
The course is in good shape but the greens suffered immensely from the freeze. With our patience and a Rock Star Superintendent and staff, we should see them turn the corner for the best in a few months. It is what it is as others courses greens look about the same.
Absolutely Terrible!
No grass on most of the greens...just dirt with small patches of grass. They should close down until they can get greens playable. $56 for worst condition I’ve ever seen! Stay away from this dump.

Greens were the only bad thing
Have played Whitestone over 20 times now. The course itself is in the best shape I’ve seen it. They have put a lot of work into knocking trees down and the tee boxes are great. Staff is friendly and you get free range balls with a tee time. The only thing is the greeens are horrendous. I’ve never seen it this bad here and anywhere else. 2 holes have to have temperorary greens like 50 yards before where the real greens would be, so you’re putting on fairway. I recommend this course whenever the greens are fixed

Nice course!
My first time playing this course, but will be back when I am in town. The staff was really friendly and the carts had a courtesy towel (potential rain) and bottled water, which was a nice touch on their part.

Love the layout .
I've played Whitestone for many years since it was built .We played 5-14 and we were flabbergasted at the horrible condition of this once awesome course . The fairways had very little if any grass for except for Hole #1 . The greens were a shock to see . They were all absent of a green putting surface except the 17th . They were mostly JUST DIRT !!!! They were blaming the Feb freeze . No way !!!!! Most of the courses right now have nice greens and decent fairways !! The problem is with the Course maintenance manager . Sad to see this course in such bad shape !!!!!

Don't let the greens put you off. Overall the course is in good shape ...Yes the greens need help lots of help, but this course is doing everything they can to make sure you have a great golf day. Range balls included with your round,great new carts,towel and bottle of water in every cart fresh apples on hole 1 Ice machine on hole 5. Attentive starter keeping tee times running smoothly. What else can you ask for? Just call the greens a 2 put max and enjoy a great round. I have never played here before but I will be back.

Nice play
Layout is great, fairways good. Some greens excellent, some were terrible, as someone advised us that the Club did not cover the greens during the harsh part of the winter.

All but the greens
I have played at Whitestone 3x now. I like the course lay out with some challenging holes scattered in with some easier holes. They have free warmup golf balls at the range for those playing a round. There Carts are quick, come with a towel, tees, and water bottle. Everything you need with you but the clubs, balls, and skill. The only complaint is the greens. They have this carpet of sand and dead grass, that more resembles cement than anything. Its like a weird carpet fungus that's rock hard and impossible to put on. The folks not take are of their divots either which to adds to the issue. We would laugh as we walked up and saw the green we were on. Some looked like the surface of the moon with huge crater divots. Several times my playing partners would say, lets just call it good and move on because of the conditions. I know they are trying, but there are alot of courses in the area with decent to good greens this time of year.

After lots of rain
Considering it had rained for 2 straight days I thought course conditions were top notch. Some greens were pretty patchy, but no issues with standing water. Fairways were great. Very few puddles and played pretty fast still. Carts seemed pretty new as well.

Horribly backed up
We have played here at least 10 times. Usually it's smooth and easy but today was a nightmare. We had a 1014 t time and got on the course on time. The. It took a turn. By the 9 th hole we were 40
Minutes behind. Gave up on the 12th as we had already been out for 4 1/2 hours. Won't be back on a Monday

Greens are damaged
I do really like playing this course but this time the greens were absolutely terrible. Not from aeration but from rain and they were still recovering from the winter storm. Set aside the course was wet but it was drying out nicely. It is going to take some time for the greens to recover and some will even have to be replaced. But I always do like the course setup and the staff are top notch. Now they are trying their best to keep the greens rolling smooth but just got some bad luck this year with the freeze and then the tremendous amount of recent rain causing damage to the course.

Great for the money
Although the greens are still recovering from February freeze, they are still good. Beautiful course and I love the new golf carts.

Greens need work
Overall good condition. However, most of the greens need work. Very inconsistent. 17 green was the only one in great condition.

TLC Needed
This is a great layout with a fun front 9 and a challenging back 9. It's pretty obvious that they're really working hard on the golf course... but the greens on the back 9 need a lot of work...I mean a lot.
