Whitestone Golf Course
About
Long and susceptible to the wind, White Stone Golf Club rolls through an impressive Hill Country-like setting with huge oak trees, lots of rocks, and loads of native oaks, cacti, yucca, and wildflowers.
Bunkers are everywhere on this 7,100-yard Jeff Brauer design, and water comes into play on about seven holes. The key to scoring well is keeping the ball below the hole, avoiding nasty downhill putts on the extremely fast greens. White Stone's par 5s are tough, and average golfers should probably play them conservatively and be happy just getting there in three, since three out of four are fronted by hazards and require carries.
On the front nine, no. 1 tests you early -- it’s a 555-yarder with a creek that crosses the fairway and forces a layup on the second shot. No. 9 is nice as well, a 360-yarder that should be played with a short iron to lay up in front of the creek. This hole features a nice dip in the center of the green that requires knowing the correct pin placement.
White Stone Golf Club's back starts strong like the front, opening with a 580-yard par 5 with a sloping fairway that is cut by the creek on two occasions. No. 11 is the best par 3 on the golf course -- a 200-yarder that plays dow hill over a creek and into a creek surrounded by bunkers.

Ok course
We have played better courses but this was ok, it was worth what we paid though golf now, no cart girl on a Saturday is not good, and the greens where not in the best of shape.
Not good right now
The course is not very good right now. The fairways are bare as is the greens. You get these spots of grass or whatever they are throughout the greens that affect your puts. The poor guy trying to check everyone in needed help but had to keep walking back and to the guy with answers that was just talking to some chick and guy just out of the pro shop. Then you could not get anyone to maintain the concession area. People were lining up there as well. Pace was slow but ok. No Marshall working. Play did get back up at times. People were friendly. Just not prepared. They had a tournament but I guess most of the staff went home after it was over. Not the best time.
Slow pace
The coarse was in better shape than it usually is which is nice. With some upkeep and Marshall intervention this coarse would be amazing.
Really bad sand traps.
Worst sand traps in the Dallas Fort Worth area. In my opinion.
Just a nice place to play 18
Great course. Challenging layout. Also played with a good friend. Way to spend an afternoon
Love This Place
Always have a good time here. Sand traps were iffy, but weather the day before had a lot to do with that. Friendly staff & pace was good. Will be back many times.
This course has enough challenges for low handicap players to enjoy.
The course is designed to handle handicaps from low to high. Wide fairways, descent amount of bunkers, and the greens were in pretty good shape. Play a round, you won't be disappointed.
Terrible layout
This is the worst course i have ever played, terrible conditions, the club house restroom nasty and unsanitary.
Club is need of some TLC.
Whitestone has been going down for the last few years. The greens were in bad shape. Lots of weeds to compete with the Bermuda. Tee boxes on par 3's were mostly sand. Bunkers should be eliminated as they are not maintained. Rocky, poor drainage, no sand. Even with winter time conditions, this course has not been maintained. No beverage cart on the weekend. Few course amenities. This course has a great layout but needs an infusion of resources.
Decent
Exactly what I expected for January golf. The course has a pretty good layout, grass is dormant, greens were actually fairly receptive and smooth. I'm not a huge fan of gas carts, and they removed the GPS, but this course is well worth $35.
Whitestone - Benbrook
I liked the layout, it was challenging and forgiving. Most of the staff was nice very nice and helpful. There wasn't a cart girl. Pace of play was nice, teed off at 12pm, walked off the 18th at 355pm.
Tee boxes- Ok
Fairways- It's winter but even saying that the ball seemed to roll forever no matter if the ball was on the fairway or in the rough.
Bunkers- Absolutely terrible.
Greens- had foreign grass growing in a few which caused the ball to jump off line. I dont think these greens could hold a lawn dart.
I would only recommend this course if you want to play a cheap round. I may give it another shot this spring.
Good time at Whitestone
I had a good time. Played with three others randomly, nice guys. Perfect pace of play. The greens were soft and puttable. Fairway grass was dormant but ok. The sand traps were a little wet and less desirable sand type but playable.
Great course
The course was in good shape considering the time of year. The greens showed a lot of traffic and were OK.
Still needs a lot of work
This course is in decent shape about two months out of the year in the spring. This course should just fill in the bunkers and grow grass in them. Bunkers are never attended. Greens are bad due to strange grasses growing everywhere. Fairways are hard as rocks. Trash everywhere. Play this course if you don't care about course conditions.
BEST VALUE IN FORT WORTH
Played for $17 on GolfNow pricing, at 2:45pm....was only looking to play 9 with my kiddo. Thats what we did, but could have probably got in the back 9 as well.
This course, for the price, is the best value in FW, hands down. Fun layout, some easy holes, some very tough ones. Fairways are in good shape, greens are good/not great.
Only negatives for this course are the bunkers are terrible......should just be taken out if they cannot be maintained properly, and the pace of play is almost always an issue because of certain holes (#7 on the front, #10 on the back).
Bottom line, for under $25 including cart......great value.
Greens need help
Luckily, we only paid $21 instead of the usual $36. The greens had patches of renegade grass growing in them. My buddy and I resorted to playing "in the leather" rules for putting, none were going to fall. Otherwise, it was OK, slow players in front of us refused to wave us past, should have a marshall to help with this. NO CART girl!
fun day
great day out with best bud. course, as usual provided all the necessary challenge, risk & reward.
