Tapatio Springs Hill Country Resort

Upon check in it was apparent, we did not matter as we did not stay at the resort. The gentleman behind the counter didnt say welcome, good morning even a hello. After we told him we were from MN. he still didnt say thanks for coming to play, nothing. Other people walked in and it was good morning, have a great round. Course was very nice enjoyed the lay out very much.

Course was in great condition. It is a Hill Country course at its finest. Staff was friendly and helpful. If you like a course that offers great views a variety of different looks this is your course.

Interesting layout, quite a bit of water, pretty waterfalls as it must have rained recently. We like playing the course but the tee boxes are so hard you can hardly get a tee in the ground. The fairways look dried out, lots of debris, but lots of roll for us hackers. You need to pick the ball clean as not much give to the fairways. The greens are true and the fastest we have played in Hill Country so far, the only complaint is it was very hard to hold a ball. You had to drop it short and let the ball run on the green and hope it stayed. All in all a good challenge. Staff were very friendly. Beautiful clubhouse.

Had a great time at this resort course. The greens are protected by traps and water which is a nice challenge. I will definitely be back.

No grass , green very slow no ranger, group in front very slow..

The fairway grass was brown as I suppose is to be expected in January. After all, being from Portland, OR it's just great to be able to play golf in January under sunny skies so I don't really care if the grass is green or brown. I thought this was a good and challenging track. I probably had to use more of my clubs on this course than I have used in a long time. I found distances deceiving, some holes looking longer than posted and some looking shorter. All in all, I found this course a really good challenge, and look forward to playing it again.

One word "Unbelievable" this is truly a 5 star resort. My wife had a spa day at the resort while I played golf. But what about the course. There are crystal clear spring fed lakes on many holes. 100' foot cliffs in the back ground. one thing I wish I could see the green fairways (fairways are dormant in mid Jan). It is just a beautiful course. Was paired with 2 locals that helped my stay out of trouble and was fun to play with. Was just a great day a golf.

Everything about the course..practice area, tee boxes, fairways, cart paths, bunkers, and especially greens-first rate. The greens were deceptively fast for a fall round...unbelievably quick, perfect condition. The water hazards were crystal clear, probably a combination of restored spring flow, and perhaps recirculation processes. Pace of play was excellent for a holiday weekend Saturday, early afternoon round.

Haven't played here in years...last time I did course was in awful condition and I told myself never again. Now it's in Prefect condition!!!! Will be back many many times even if it's a 30 mile drive. 5 Stars!!!!

Love the receptive greens. Approach shots will not simply bounce away. Nice undulations allow for challenge with no fear of "glass-like" putt rolls. Fairways allow for good roll and some are very generous in their width.

Every hole will test your draw, fade, or straight bias. A premium is placed on knowing how to play your bias with differing holes and elevations. Altogether, this makes for an enjoyable round in the scenic Texas Hill Country. Please, be careful not to slow the pace of play by taking pics at every hole. I did take pics but I was not playing in a foursome. Enjoy folks!

The staff at the clubhouse and the bar were outstanding. The view from the patio after the round was very warm and inviting that gave the view surrounding the course a greater experience. Having the fireplace and the guitar players adding to the experience made it a memorable time that will bring us back.

The course is in great shape. Greens roll very well. The changes they made have worked out well. Great value!!

Tapatio has consistently been making this course better and better each time we play. We go there about once a month. This round by far was the best in terms of conditions! Beautiful resort and fantastic golf course!

Wow this course has completely changed over the last year with the renovations. It's in great shape and I enjoy playing it.

The entire course is in outstanding condition. The fairways are plush and the greens smooth and true.
