About
Gillette Ridge Golf Club in Bloomfield, just outside of Hartford, is an Arnold Palmer Signature course. It is one of the toughest rounds in all of New England. The course sprawls across a beautiful landscape covered with natural wetlands and forests of towering maples, oaks, and elm trees. There are strategically placed bunkers in addition to the natural challenges but they are not excessive. The wetlands come into play on almost half of the holes at Gillette Ridge Golf Club. The approaches to the greens are seemingly intimidating but as long as you don't hit short there is always bailout area on one side. Since each hole presents a unique challenge, there is not just one signature hole, but one of the most memorable holes is the par-5 second, a true risk-reward test that requires both length and accuracy.

Green need help
The course is good except for the greens. Looks like they arerated last year and they have not recovered. Need to be sanded or something. Very very very bumpy and inconsistent. Love the place but come on man.
Gillette ridge
This place has gone down hill since last summer. The green was aerated back in September or October and there are still hole marks on the greens which makes the ball bounce. It’s not a true roll. The pace of play on a Wednesday afternoon at 3 pm was sloooooooow. Bunkers need work. Staff is very friendly.

Play on the front 9 was quick but the back nine was terrible had to wait 8-10 minutes every hole

I had a great experience playing here. The staff is very friendly and bar / restaurant and menu choices were excellent. The course layout is a lot of fun to play and is in decent shape considering it is so early in the season. Definitely recommend playing here!
Spring golf
If you don't mind paying $55 for bumpy greens and untended bunkers it was good. I know it's early and the grass isn't growing yet so expectations are low for conditions. It was good to get out and hit some shots so that was the important thing. Course is much better in the summer so I'll probably be back then.
Staff was amazing
The course was in great condition for the time of year. What I was most impressed with was the customer service I received.
Too congested
We had a 3:00 tee time, we showed up at 2:45 and the guy said he moved us to 3:08 but to get a cart and go start asap... Got to the tee box to find a line and couldn't tee off until 3:10... But at that point there were 4 groups behind us claiming they had a 3 or 3:08 tee time.... and a single just randomly joined us as we teed off(cool enough guy though)... Everyone was moving super slow and we had to deal with idiots hitting into us all afternoon. They need to do a better job managing pace of play.
Never will come back here, staff is miserable
Went to play this course with much anticipation, but staff ruined it, especially the starter. Got there about 10 minutes before tee time , tells me I am late and that I can’t even tee off on the first hole. That was fine, then he tells me to group up with two people on hole 2 but there was no one. I was supposed to join a threesome, but I have a feeling they did not want someone joining their group. The guy comes back to me and yells at me for playing by myself. I told him there was no one on hole 2,, but again continues yelling at me for being late. I was not late for my tee time.. Did not want to play anymore so I left after playing 7 holes. Definitely will not return.
