Los Lagos Golf Club

About
Taking advantage of the Rio Grande Valley's growing reputation as a burgeoning golf destination, the city of Edinburg invested over $6 million to produce what is touted as one of the best courses in the Valley.
Eleven acres of lakes highlight this Robert von Hagge design, which leans more towards a links-style layout. The signature hole is the intimidating par 3 No. 14, which plays anywhere from 130 to 160 yards depending on the tee and pin placements. The southeast wind impacts your shot into a kidney-shaped green that is guarded by water on the left and a large pot bunker on the front right. The green is a tough two-putt, and if you miss the approach back right, you're faced with a tough chip back downhill toward the hole.
Los Lagos is a well-balanced course with equal yardage on both nines. Your best birdie chance is the 12th hole, which plays only 342 yards from the blue tees and has no major hazards. Water is in play on 12 of the 18 holes.
The open-air pavilion is a great place to enjoy your post-round beverages.
Getting there : From 281 north, exit on Freddy Gonalez and turn right. Drive down until you see Super Splash and turn right on Raul Longoria. The course is on the left side of the road next to Super Splash.

Beautiful Course
Great course! Beautiful layout. But beware of the wind. It'll help you when you're downwind, but if you have a slice, you're dead.
#10 can be reached in two, but you have to cut the corner off the tee, and be VERY LONG on your 2nd, with a tailwind of course.
Island hole on #14 is a beauty.
#18 is reachable in two, just get a straight drive and the wind will take care of itself.
Los logos
The course has seen better days. Greens are dead a lot of spots with out grass.rough grass is way too high.dry spots in the fairway dry spots on the green a lot of work needs to be done to have course return to its best condition.
Best course in RGV...
Drove from Harlingen (about 40 miles)...had played there the week before and had such a great time that we decided to play again...No problems or hassles at anytime with check in or reservations...will definitely return....service staff were very friendly....
Nice
Had a great time.. Had to wait around a little., fast greens and great fairways.. Will definitely be back
HOT HOT HOT
Day we played was hottest day of the year. Very nice course for the Valley and will play again. However, will wait till 3:30 or 4 to tee off next time.
verey good links course and challenging with wind
Course was in better condition than last year ( fairways, sand traps ) and the greens were very fast . We had a good time.
Fast green
Overall great course to play every week. Be careful ants house....
Great Track
Some of the best greens in the RGV. Good layout with a lot of different shots.

The out of the course is great and each hole presents excellent challenges for a good golf.
The layout of the course is excellent and every hole presents a new challenge for golfs.
Poor customer service
4 1/2 hours to play 11 holes before I called it a day. The coarse has no marshals controlling the pace of play. Some players were jumping holes and disrupting all groups along the way. It was a weekend and the pro shop did not have a beverage cart on the course. The head pro was playing the coarse with no concern of all the problems that were a happening all around him. I love this coarse, but until they manage the facility, I say,... stay away! Sorry guys, you blew it with me and my guest from out of town which I wanted to impress. Thumbs down!
Could Have Been Better
Great course and in good condition; however, the score card says that they have a marshal and speed of play is strictly enforced. We followed a party of 5 and they were extremely slow. At one tee box we had 1 group in the fairway waiting to hit their 2nd shot and 3, that's 3 groups, standing on tee box waiting. I suggest that the golf course "strictly enforce" the speed of play or they are going to loose business.
great course
This was a great experience as a single player as I made the round in under 3 hours due to cold weather and few golfers. As a 60 something golfing enthusiast with a 10 handicap I should have played the senior tees as I had difficulty hitting grees with long 2nd shots. Also the fairways being cut very short occasionaly made it hard for me to get loft on the ball so as to land softly on the greens. When I did get on the greens I found them fair with a true roll and speedy. I liked the challenge of having to shape many shots and appreciate the placement of distance stakes 2 feet high on each side of the fairway to outline target areas. I purchased a practice tee area membership and look forward to many more rounds there.
Water
Well designed...water comes into play thruot the course..at different intervals..good challenge for all levels of play
good challenge
Great course and great value Recommend play never a flat lie
Fellow in Pro shop super nice
Course was okay, fairly flat , some water
I showed up on wrong day and they were able to fit us in without any problem
Make sure you play here
Great layout and they have the fastest greens I have played on . It's a links style layout through some really nice residential housing. They have several sets of tees if you feel you really want to punish yourself especially when the wind picks up.Great driving range too!
