Los Lagos Golf Club

About
Taking advantage of the Rio Grande Valley's growing reputation as a burgeoning golf destination, the city of Edinburg invested over $6 million to produce what is touted as one of the best courses in the Valley.
Eleven acres of lakes highlight this Robert von Hagge design, which leans more towards a links-style layout. The signature hole is the intimidating par 3 No. 14, which plays anywhere from 130 to 160 yards depending on the tee and pin placements. The southeast wind impacts your shot into a kidney-shaped green that is guarded by water on the left and a large pot bunker on the front right. The green is a tough two-putt, and if you miss the approach back right, you're faced with a tough chip back downhill toward the hole.
Los Lagos is a well-balanced course with equal yardage on both nines. Your best birdie chance is the 12th hole, which plays only 342 yards from the blue tees and has no major hazards. Water is in play on 12 of the 18 holes.
The open-air pavilion is a great place to enjoy your post-round beverages.
Getting there : From 281 north, exit on Freddy Gonalez and turn right. Drive down until you see Super Splash and turn right on Raul Longoria. The course is on the left side of the road next to Super Splash.

Definately worth playing
Had a great day. Started out in the fog, but had some locals familiar with the course that gave us good direction. It turned out to be a beautiful day. The wind came into play on the 18th, but it just added to the challenge. There is some water that seemed to lure the ball in that direction on a few holes, but the course is very fair. It was in very good shape and I will play this course when I'm in town.
Good course
Very good course.....teed of at 2pm but could not complete round due to incredibly slow pace of play.....it was dark but my buddy and I still had 4 holes to play.
Highly recommend this course.
Excellent condition.
Loved it. Will play there again. Well maintained when I come back.
Great features, looks easy but there is trouble off the fairway
This course looks easy but there is easy to get in trouble off the fairway, the greens are fast and the prevailing winds make it a challenging but fun course to play, well worth the money, specially if you get the $32 special that includes cart, range balls and lunch (great burgers).
This course has great character.
The greens are challenging for their speed and cut. Unlike most of the greens here in the valley that are quite flat. The moguls lining the fairways give the course some character. The course is well maintained and I find it to be one of the best here in the valley. This course can give you a challenge or reward, depending on your day.
Great lay out
Good layout challenging nice personnel would play there again
Easy, until the wind kicks up.
Enjoyable course, friendly pro shop staff. Greens in very good condition, fairways and tee boxes well-maintained. Snack bar staff could use a little hospitality training...or maybe she was just having a bad day.
Off early...played quickly.
provides challenges for all skill level
greater course. Will play it as often as possible.
Los Logos
Its one of the best courses in the Rio Grande Valley. Greens and T boxes were excellent. The roof could have a little more attention.
The course has blind landing spots
The links course is defended by the unexpected breaks on the greens. The uneven lies the fairway can add more challenge to your game
Excellent Greens
Greens were running an easy 9 on the stimp. They were just verti cut, top dressed, and rolled out. Very smooth. Fairways were excellent as well. Pace of play was very quick at 2 hrs 15 mins. for 18 holes from the blacks
Fast pace of play
Called in and grabbed a bacon cheeseburger in the shop at noon and went and played 18 holes in 1hr 55 mins. Wind was up, rough was high and greens were smooth. Eagled #18 from the blacks: Driver, punchy 7 into the neck and, & spun a Pro V1 onto the front and it hit and rolled right in. Great time!
Fast pace of play
Great course to play in less than three hours. Get a bacon cheeseburger before you tee off and go
For playing in the summer at a South Texas course it was great. the greens were the best thing about the course.
It was a great day. The staff had my info, I was early and they let me start right away. It was a great course. Can't believe the price that I paid.....I will do this again and again!
Great course. Can't beat the deal!
This is a great course and is well maintained. Offers great food too!
love the price eve though tee time was 12 noon (very hot).
Had golfcourse to ourselves and golfnow gave us the opportunity to play and pay for a very low price.
Course was in good shape for being the hot summer.
Nice to see local courses give the player a brake on fees. Course was in good shape given we played in the hottest part of the day in late July.
Very nice one of If not best overall course I've played
Great golf course from tees to greens! Love the hills makes it challenging!
Chanllenging golf course
Your first drive isn't perfectly down the middle, you may be in the rough or on a sidehill downslope that makes it hard to advance the ball. Good thing it's a par five. You may make a five. You will enjoy this course visually, the only problem is reading the greens if the pins are put in undulations on the greens-good luck, you can miss a three foot putt because of the unseen break! If you are not a real long driver then it's best to play from the white tees because you will enjoy the course and you might break 85. If you don't care about score then play from the blues but the back tees are tough! Best to go with people you enjoy because it does take time to play. Enjoy!
Great course
Great course. Amazing pace of play, Must stay on fairways or easily good luck in finding your ball. Pin placements and bunker placements were challenging. Good in my opinion. Only room for improvement would be bunkers have minimal or no sand at all. Overall great course to spend part of your day with some friends.
