The Resort Golf Club
About
The Resort Golf Club is one of Fort Worth's finest golfing destinations. The course sprawls across the rolling hills of north Texas and wraps around the shores of Eagle Mountain Lake. Mature live oaks line the narrow fairways, providing some tight holes with difficult shot selections that demand accuracy, but there are also holes with open, more forgiving tees. Golfers will want to make sure they bring a strong iron game when playing this golf course since there rock walls and bunkers strategically bordering the raised greens. There are also water hazards that come into play along the greensides and fairways. It is a golf course that will reward skill and strategy over strength alone. The 16th is one of the toughest holes but with a good approach and a bit of luck, there is an opportunity for a birdie.

Another Fun Round at The Reesory
I love this course because it is a shotmakers course. If you can get a good score here, then other courses seem as if they are easy and wide open. Realize that you're not supposed to hit driver off of every tee, and that the recent monsoon like rains have made many holes "cart path only" across all of North Texas. I played Grapevine last Thursday and walked. My partners had carts, and I had no problem keeping up with them. The Resort, once things dry out, can compete with any course in the area. They've put new sand in the bunkers, and the price is right. I'll be back there again. After all, the staff treats me like gold.
Staff friendly but course needs help
The staff was very friendly, but confused by the cart path only. The condition was similar to a municipal course.
Pretty and inexpensive course
We have played this course twice in one week. Price can’t be beat. Grass is still winter brown and recent rains meant cart path only during the first game. But it’s obvious this will be a pretty and well laid out course course.
No Worth the Money
Hey just FYI they are charge full rate when it should not be more than $20.00 regardless of weekend. The greens are horrible and has so many patches that ball bounces left and right like it was on a gravel road. Hole 15 and 16 are completely under water and there make up to a par 3 on that hole u can't make it around to even put it in. No Cart girls and bar and Restaraunt staff are not friendly and dead slient in the restaurant making it a awkward feeling. Old man that works the evening as the golf pro is rude and wants to argue. Also they charge u $20.00 if your wife rides in the cart even though she is not playing. This place should not be charging rates this high on the weekend when course is not fully open to play and not even in good condition. WAIT A FEW MONTHS WHEN THEY GET THINGS FIXED!!!!
Too many cart path only holes
First off, there are way too many "cart path only" holes here! The lesser condition of the fairways and greens, and given that the course is located in the same climate as other area courses without so many cart path only holes and in better condition, does not justify this unnecessary aggravation and the delays caused by such impositions (i.e. walking all the way across the fairway with several clubs, not knowing the lie, or perhaps even where the ball may lie). And I, and others with whom I've spoken, do not like starting our round, whereupon we are not yet loose/warmed-up, with a severe 90 degree dogleg, with trees all about skirting the fairway, and moreover a tee shot where many of us have to play an iron off the tee. (And if we play driver or 3-wood, because of the blind shot over the trees toward the green, we are unsure if the group ahead has cleared. Thus, we are left no recourse but to play "safe" iron shots). The nines should be switched to play first off what is now #10 tee. Several of my putts, from any range, were thrown off line by whatever weed/growth has infested some of their greens. This raises my score, and my ire. Additionally, I have never lost so many balls that I know struck the fairway from the tee, and somehow rolled into oblivion, on any other course. If this course wasn't so conveniently located between my work and home, I'd never again play it...and am considering such anyway, particularly as daylight lengthens and I have other timely alternatives.
P.S. Cut down that tree guarding the 17th green from the fairway; the hole is hard enough with the relative angle and narrow approach to, as well as the shallow landing area of the green, anyway.
First, the good. The staff ( the one guy I saw ) was very polite and helpful. As for the rest.. Previous reviewers were correct, don't bother bringing your driver. Course layout is overly tight. Stood in one spot and was equal distance from 4 different fairways. Cart paths loop around like spaghetti and even with that, you still end up unusually large distances from cart path to green. One hole has a bridge from the cart path to the green, but it's underwater, even though the water levels of the hazard was obviously low. ?? A lot of bunkers, and most with brownish playground sand that looks more like dirt than anything else. Doesn't look like they have the funding to keep the course maintenance up to the level that the designer intended.
Great Course Really well done
Got a hole in 1 on 15! Kids in the shop were cluless and acted like it was nohing! Great course signage makes it hard to find a few of the holes! Food and beverage team cluless!! Love the course not the staff!! Been in the business a long time i would fire a bumch of them!! No personality at all!! Seem more interested in their social life than great service
Good Track
Several of the greens had spots with green weeds growing. Overall it was a good course to play.
Amazing Course
A hidden gem!! Super Service and a truly great golf course !! We enjoyed our round and will b back for sure Thank You!!
Good Course
First time playing 'The Resort'. Little hard to find but we made it. Had a 1:07pm tee time (Hot Deal) and was told we were paired up with 2 singles. This is normally fine but it was 45 degrees and 20 MPH winds and nobody wanted to spend 5 hours in the weather. We split up after the first hole and sped things up. (Common sense would of been to let us go off separate in my eyes but maybe I am off-base) Maybe cleaning the one extra cart was too tough, I don't know. Couse was enjoyable but a little hard to navigate. We would play again and have a better idea next time how to get around. Cheeseburger was great if you are hungry!
Excellent experience
This place is amazing. The staff is extremely friendly. The course is beautiful. It was very busy and we had to wait a lot during our round but I think it’s because it was the only day it didn’t rain in 3 Days so many people wanted to play.
Great Layout!!
Overall course was good. The course layout is tough if you try and use a driver. Turn down the testosterone and use a your 3wood you’ll be happier. Enjoy your round!!
Beautiful course Extremely HORRIBLE customer service
We actually were able to golf at this course twice in same week. The first time the younger guy at the pro shop was friendly and it was a five star experience. SO we decided to go again today. This time it was an older man at the pro shop. The older man at the pro shop was EXTREMELY rude and snobbish. He was aggressive from the moment we walked in and acted like we were inconveniencing him by being there. He was very condescending and acted like we were scum. This guy has no business whatsoever doing customer service in any capacity. He was so rude it soiled the rest of the day. The course is beautiful and challenging at the same time, but the customer service was so bad we probably will not return again.
Fun course to play
I always enjoy playing The Golf Club At The Resort. The windy conditions can make it challenging.
Nice Layout
overall, this course is a nice layout for a gated community course. Greens are a bit small, but putt true to read and consistant for speed. Best to keep in the fairway off the tee if you want to score well.
Fun course
This course is very fun and challenging. Being a holiday week you needed to be patient as play did get slow especially on the back nine. Some groups let me play through and I joined a few groups. Maybe a marshal could speed things up a bit. Fortunately everyone seemed to keep emotions in check.
Challenging but fun
First time playing this course. While the cart path doesn’t really flow that well with the holes, the course makes up for it with some great fairways and challenging setups. Whether it’s hitting over water or approaching the green through a tight opening, we definitely had to bring our A-game to post a good score. We will be returning again in the future!
