Challenging layout and the greens are in pretty good shape.

Played two days in a row. Excellent layout and challenging water and sand trap locations. I was very happy with this course.

Course was in good shape, greens are 80% back after aerating them a few weeks a go fairways are in good shape, overall a nice experience & round of golf.

This is a must play course. Very Challenging, with wide fairways, but you have to hit the ball far. You may be in the fairway, but it takes a really good second shot to hit the greens. Water and bunkers are placed effectively throughout the course. The one ding on the course is the bunkers. Sand was thin and hard. Probably due to the recent heavy rains. With that many bunkers difficult to maintain them. This was a well designed course. You better be thinking before you hit the ball or your going to be stinking.. I went back and played the course again the next day..

Have played here before but not recently. Course was in very good shape other than water in bunkers from recent heavy rain. Fairways were good, greens were slow but fair, driving range was in great shape. We played in about 4 hours. Good round of golf ... will be back.

Enjoy playing a links style course and Houston National is a nice one. The staff from the pro shop. Bar and cart ladies are all friendly and attentive.

I knew going in, Friday would be slow. Felt kind of bad for the guy playing ahead of us in a foursome. A couple of ladies were playing expertly from the white tees, while he and another guy were playing the blues. It was clear he was a beginner. He Must have put a half dozen into the ravine on 18. Greens were aerated, sanded and bumpy. Fairaways soft from recent rain. Still managed to play in 4 hours with a guy who showed up at my tee time. We had a good round.

They just punched the greens and they were very bumpy.

Love the course. They had just sanded the greens so approach shots and puts were nearly impossible but everything else was in great condition.

No complaint at all, excellent course, layout and peace of play. 5 stars

The course was average and didn’t offer anything special. The pace of play on a Thursday afternoon was terrible. Staff was very friendly and amenities were amazing, but that’s it. Course is a solid 3.4 out of 5.

Fun course to play. Challenging but not impossible. Greens are in good condition rolling fast & true. Definitely will be back to play again.

Greens were recently punched, but are rolling pretty good now. My main complaint is the invasive grass on the collar that makes for unfair bounces when putting from off the green. If mowed more regularly it would not be an issue.

Staff Friendliness-guy behind the counter was not very talkative, no big deal, but mentioned in passing to my playing partner, and he had the same issue.
