Houston National Golf Club

Played mid week in a foursome and played behind another foursome and was waiting on every shot. Greens had a lot of poana grass mixed in. Fairways were on the skinny side for grass. Price was ok for the round.

I’ve always liked this course. Fairways are finally drying out after the early year rains, and it feels very “Open Championship-ish”. Plenty of roll, and lots of risk/reward.

Keep your ball in the fairway and you’ll be fine. Get off course you will find yourself in the moguls. Plenty of water that comes into play.

Played this course about 3 weeks ago and the greens needed some work, but this time the greens were in good shape. Fairways could use some work for the most part

Pace a play sucked!!

Course is very dry and needs water to bring it back to life. Several greens needed attention.

I hope things change there soon. Would like to play again, because I really like the layout!

Pace of play sucked and frustrated especially on back 9

Conditions were very dry and several greens needed help.

Either it needs to rain several inches or they need to water it a little more often.

Once I see other reviews state that. I will recommend it and come back!

Fairways were pretty dry and hard. Lot’s of run off drives. Greens were decent with some difficult pin placements. Pace was very good on front but could have used a marshall to help move some slower groups along. Not sure if a group was added? All in all a pretty good day of golf.

This course is challenging for every skill level. Greens roll nice, would prefer them a little faster but overall it’s a good track to play.

Fun links-style course, with a number of elevated greens. Greens had been treating past week or so with sand, but still in very good shape, speed was awesome, and ran very true. Fairways still growing in and a little thin in areas. Very windy when we played but would definitely recommend, and look forward to playing again.

This was the 2nd time for this NH Snowbird to play this great course.

The undulating, bermed fairways, the large number of bunkers, the swales and ravines, the generous amount of water, and the fast rolling greens present all the challenges any golfer needs for a great outing.

Looking forward to another round here sometime down the road.

Popcorn was top notch. Pace of play had issues, one twosome was kind enough to invite me to play through on #5. Next group offered on #6 but I could see another group ahead. So it was slow going through the turn with 5 minute waits through #12. Finally decided to skip 13 and 14 where I saw where the bottle neck was...that 2nd group ahead. Clear sailing after that. I was charged $41.65 which was indicated as my grand total, not the amount due at the course of $38.95. I chose not bring this to the cashier’s attention.

The layout is a bit confusing as there are many crossroads between holes. The last whole is extremely confused.

Friend and I played a round in about 3.5 hours today at Houston National. Course was nice and dry. Greens were in good shape ... fairway grass was coming out but short right now. Not much grass off the greens yet so chipping was a challenge. Courses in Houston have been very wet this year; this one seems to handle water better than most others. Good value for the money.
