Sculpted by Greg Norman out of the tall grassland prairies and rice fields west of Houston, Meadowbrook Farms is part of a planned 800-acre residential development headed by Landmark National. Norman's layout includes deep-faced sod bunkers, Lil Prong Creek, and a multitude of oaks, pecans, and sycamores that take the golfer toward greens that are extremely hard.
The lack of parallel holes allows for an open, natural setting that is perfect for golf, especially since Norman didn't favor much reshaping-instead, he used the natural topography of the former rice farm.
Holes of note on the front are the 160-yard No. 6 and the 420-yard No. 9, both accented by the tall native grasses. No. 9 involves wetlands in front of the green, which is tough considering the longish approach.
Several holes on the back can destroy your round, including the narrow, doglegging 395-yard No. 10. It's imperative to find the fairway on this one. And No. 15 is short (340 yards), but is loaded with bunkers that are difficult for the high-handicapped hack.
The best hole of the bunch is perhaps No. 18, a 545-yarder that involves a layup of a canal off the tee and two solid shots to reach the green in regulation.
All told, this one is worth the investment. The bag drop service is friendly and prompt, and the clubhouse offers affordable amenities, including a great little bar and grill.
Getting there : From Downtown Houston on I-10, drive west to Grand Parkway (Hwy. 99). Take Grand Parkway south to Fry Rd., then turn right. Take Fry Rd. west for approximately 1.3 miles, and the entrance is on the left.

For the price they charge, you would think that the carts would have GPS. Very hard to figure out distances. Course was in decent shape, not sure why they had a 90 degree rule that day.
Excellent
First time playing here. We Will definitively come back. Fairways and greens in great conditions.
Greens
Greens were average. The course should change out all the greens IMO with all the new types of hybrid grass. They were very grainy.
HOT DEAL
This course is pretty pricey, but I found a $40 Hot Deal. And it was hot!!!!! Plus the 90⁰ rule was enforced. Should have been the 96⁰ rule, but whatever! Stay hydrated, my friends. Course was in great shape. Lots of fun.
Nice course with challenging design.
Nice course with fast fairways and receptive but quick greens. The tee shots can be tight and the tall grass can come into play basically forcing a drop on most holes. The rough hazards were 2 foot tall grass that I couldn’t find my ball in. But the course was nicely maintained and the greens rolled nicely.
Only thing that was annoying is that they won’t give you a cooler unless you buy at least 4 drinks(My wife and I usually get coolers with only ice for cooling towels when it’s 97 outside) but there is ice and water every 3 holes or so. And they keep your credit card until you return the cooler.

Expensive But Good
Meadowbrook Farms is a very enjoyable course and I would recommned it with the caveat that you should check the price. I assume they make it this expensive to keep it a little more open for their members, which is fair. We flew through the round in under four hours on a Friday morning which was nice. The staff working there could not have been more friendly. There's a good mix of holes out there too and I always appreciate a course that has a rated combo tee. Overall I do like playing this course and I'm sure I'll be back at some point although there are other places I might look for value.
