Meadowbrook Farms Golf Club
About
Sculpted by Greg Norman out of the tall grassland prairies and rice fields west of Houston, Meadowbrook Farms is part of a planned 800-acre residential development headed by Landmark National. Norman's layout includes deep-faced sod bunkers, Lil Prong Creek, and a multitude of oaks, pecans, and sycamores that take the golfer toward greens that are extremely hard.
The lack of parallel holes allows for an open, natural setting that is perfect for golf, especially since Norman didn't favor much reshaping-instead, he used the natural topography of the former rice farm.
Holes of note on the front are the 160-yard No. 6 and the 420-yard No. 9, both accented by the tall native grasses. No. 9 involves wetlands in front of the green, which is tough considering the longish approach.
Several holes on the back can destroy your round, including the narrow, doglegging 395-yard No. 10. It's imperative to find the fairway on this one. And No. 15 is short (340 yards), but is loaded with bunkers that are difficult for the high-handicapped hack.
The best hole of the bunch is perhaps No. 18, a 545-yarder that involves a layup of a canal off the tee and two solid shots to reach the green in regulation.
All told, this one is worth the investment. The bag drop service is friendly and prompt, and the clubhouse offers affordable amenities, including a great little bar and grill.
Getting there : From Downtown Houston on I-10, drive west to Grand Parkway (Hwy. 99). Take Grand Parkway south to Fry Rd., then turn right. Take Fry Rd. west for approximately 1.3 miles, and the entrance is on the left.

Pricey
For $140 round after taxes i would expect better conditions on the tee boxs and bunkers.
Fairway was decent and greens were decent.

First time playing here beautiful course beautiful layout a few greens were patchy but all in all a very nice course definitely recommend
Good course but too expensive
This course is fun, but not worth the money. I got it on a hot deal and it was still $60 on a weekday. Course had been aerated within the last week or so no mention of that. If you can play for less than $50 go for it.
No back-9
The cashier did not mention anything about the back-9 being closed due to aeration when I checked in until I talked to the starter, who is extremely nice and fun. It turned out that I played front 9 twice, which was a bit boring, but the pace of play is so good (of course no one is out there to book and play 9-hole twice like I did).
Nice track, Friendly staff, good condition
The course is suited to being able to place your tee shot cleanly. A driver is not required everywhere, and a couple holes challenge you to dare to go for the green with a long driver tee shot. But, there are plenty of hazards if you miss. Fairways were in great shape. Green were in “good” shape. Edges of greens had some damage from either heat or blight. With this heat a little more watering would be good.
Overall, a lot of fun.
Good course
Everything was nice. I enjoyed the course and the layout. If it’s in the rough, it’s definitely a challenge. It’s pretty pricy.
Greens in Poor Condition
I’ve played this course many times and this was by far the worst conditions the greens have been in. All 18 greens were spotty, bare and untrue. Paid $80 for a 4:30 tee time and was disappointed in the condition of each green. With the amount of rain we’ve had this spring, and in comparison to other courses in the area, Meadowbrook ranks last. Staff was excellent; tee boxes, fairways and bunkers no complaints. Step up the greens please.
Spacey greens
Loved how wide open the greens were! Very well
maintained and lunch was wonderful!
Wasted Trip
Drove across town for a GolfNow deal… only the front 9 was open today, they punched the greens yesterday, it was cart path only, and a maintenance guy went ahead of me on just about every hole to sand the greens as I waited for my approach shot. Standing water all over the course smelled like raw sewage. Once around the front 9 was more than enough for me. Would absolutely love a refund. Will not be returning. What a bummer.
Very nice and fun
I was real pleased with the staff and the maintenance of the course. It was fun and challenging.
Grouchy starter
Course under construction, sanded punched greens, grouchy starter charging $130.
