WestRidge Golf Course
About
WestRidge Golf Course is a unique Jeff Brauer design that features a user-friendly layout. The design tips out at a standard-looking 7,041 yards, however its combination of six par 3s (none over water), six par 4s, and six par 5s is far from normal. Brauer incorporated deep bunkers, natural areas, and lakes to accompany the huge, undulating greens that await hacks who become lazy after getting home in regulation. Other than the unique hole combination, WestRidge Golf Course's drive-able par 4s (nos. 1 and 13) are notable during the summer months because they play downwind and are good birdie opportunities.

Very nice course, great lay out, one of my favorites.
Even in the wettest conditions this course plays very well. Can't wait till things dry out and start to green up. The greens are in fantastic shape, and the bunkers are really good. I think it's definitely priced right for a weekend round. The only negative thing thats been bugging me for years is how dirty the mens bathroom is all the time, no matter what day or time I have been there. As soon as they master cleaning the mens room, I will give it 5 stars.
nice course, slow play
Finished the round in just over 5.5 hours. If I could have given pace 0 stars I would have. Group in front had no business playing off the blue tees but still no need to wait on almost every shot. Love the course layout, hopefully greens will get a little better once the warm weather hits.
One of my favorites
This is definitely one of my go to courses. The staff is always top notch. I went during the day and the course looked as good as it can during the winter months. The God is a nice touch for those who are good enough to use it, myself not included. Good spacing in tee times so you don't get too clogged up. Definitely recommend it.
Greenskeeper had a bad day?
The course is average, very few trees and wide open. No beverage cart, even though we waited 10 minutes on every tee and the course was packed. The biggest issue were the greens. In the winter they all get fast and slippery. I just wonder if the guy cutting the holes was hungover or had a fight with his wife. Most of the greens are tiny and very sloped. They only allow 2-3 spots for holes to be cut. Apparently the grounds crew didn't get the memo that holes should not be cut on the side of a ridge when greens are running 12-13 speeds. 7 different times, my ball stopped within an inch of the hole to end up 30 feet away at the bottom of a hill. I'm fine with difficult courses, but good shots should not be punished and this course needs circus clowns and flashing lights around the greens.
Rainy But Fun
Ok, so I picked a terrible day to play. It had rained this morning and was in the mid 50's, but at least the wind was moderate. Given the weather, this is a unique course with 6 par 3's, 6 par 4's, and 6 par 5's. It has a blend of long & short holes, easy and tough holes. It is fair and enjoyable to play. I really like the greens. I would play this course more but there are normally not too many good deals, guess demand is high enough so they don't need to cut fees often. Too bad, I really like this course.
Allows 5-Somes
Overall, the course is well-maintained and personnel excellent. However, they do allow 5-somes which slow the pace of play. No marshalls on the day I played and it was a 5 hour round evern though they advertise "ready golf". The group of 5 slowed the entire course.
Fun track in great condition!
I played this course because I found a great "hot deal" on GolfNow.com. I was surprised to find it was home of the Hank Haney golf school. The course was in great condition and a lot of fun. The fairways are the greens large, making for a fun round. It has 6 par 4s, 6 par 3s and 6par 5s. I loved it! This allows for practice on all aspects of my game. A good time and I would highly recommend this course for anyone lookin for a fun change of pace!
Glass Grees
The greens are out of control fast. Evidently no overseeding. For example on 4th hole every one in our foursome hit the green and only one ball stayed on the green. I hit a high lob wedge to just off the right of the green and it rolled all the way over off the left of the green as did three other balls. Other greens were almost as bad.
After the grass starts growing in the spring I will return to this, one of my favorite, courses.
Pace of play
It took almost 5 hours to complete the 18 holes play.
Almost every tee boxes were packed with players, it was very slow day.
Great day of golf
I don't get to play at Westridge as often as I'd like, but it is a really fun place to play. The non-traditional setup--6 each of 5's, 4's, and 3's--is more than a little quirky, but allows for a golfer to really work on strategy in a unique way. The course has been in excellent shape every time I've played there (this made about 6 rounds) and I would have given them a five-star rating if it weren't for the bizarre "green" on hole 8. Because they are reworking the entire green, there was a "hole" cut in the fairway that was about a foot in diameter, but no putting surface. I've never run across that before. If it hadn't been for a blowup on hole 9, I would have shot one of my best rounds of the year. Oh well! Great day anyway, and I really enjoyed playing with the guys I got matched with.
1st time and only time
Average practice facilities, putting green, chipping/sand green, and range. All are near the clubhouse but the range ball machine is by the cart shed. Get range balls after check in, don't look for them near the range. It's a bit of a hike back to the clubhouse area for them.
Front side is mostly into the wind. Flat except for mounding which surround almost every green and most landing areas. Some trees but mostly open spaces. Not much use of natural areas, almost the entire front side seems built up by mounding earth. Back side has some natural holes to start out and at finish with man-made mounding in the middle of the back 9.
Greens are multi-level and in good shape.
Nice greens
Normally the greens are very slow and sandy but today the greens were very good. Always love the layout of the 6 par 5's 6 par 4's and 6 par 3's. A fun course
A whole lot of fun!
I played horrible, but I usually do anyway. The whole foursome was bad, so I fit right in. We all had a lot of fun. It wasn't us holding everyone up, it was the group ahead. The greens were fast and tricky. The fairways were in excellent shape, but stay out of the rough.
always fun
Fastest greens they have ever had. Fairways and rough in great shape.
Layout nice, greens horrendous
This will be the last time I play this course. The ProV1 special doesn't make up for the unacceptable condition of the greens.
The course is very competitive
I would have rated the course much higher if the greens had more time to recover after being punched. As such the greens were very inconsistent and bumpy, making even 3 foot putts a challenge. I would not play the course again for at least two weeks.
Greens are aerated.
Course is always in great shape with top quality practice facilities. Just hit it on a day that maintenance had to be done. Will be back in a couple of weeks.
Westridge review
As always, golf is good. Course overall is in good condition. I have no comment.
The only setback is the recently aerated green, which Golfnow or Golf course should state to notify user.
Westridge
No staff on-course management. That coupled with insolent, narcissistic youth players made the experience unbearable.
