About
The best testament one can give The Golf Club of Texas (formerly known as The Golf Club of Texas at Briggs Ranch) is that it hosts some big local tournaments. The large greens and tee boxes are some of the very best San Antonio has to offer. This is truly a high end facility. If you have not been out to enjoy this course you really need to. The place is all greened up and with the unique landscaping it's just a real pretty experience with great golf. The golf carts are outfitted with GPS which gives accurate distance to the pin and shows the contours of the greens. This track combines Links Style golf with Hill Country golf, giving players a taste of both types of golf. The course is among the best that San Antonio has to offer. The senior staff is very experienced and the service is all that you would expect at a high-value public course. The new clubhouse is beautiful and features a full service restaurant. After playing a round, you will really enjoy just sitting on the porch and taking in the view.
Directions: 20 Minutes from downtown. Take U.S. 90 west to Texas 211 (2 exits past loop 1604) and we on the right. From downtown take 90 west to Texas 211.

Great Value
Don't tell anyone, but this course is awesome. Great layout, friendly staff, and unbeatable prices.
GCT is one of my favorites in all of San Antonio.
Much better than it used to be
The course has had much improvement but still needs work. The fairways and greens were great. The fairway bunkers need help and the range was horrible( no grass). I would go again because I liked to Zoizsha grass and it was not too expensive.
Back 9 woes
Second time to play this course. Both times back nine came to a screeching halt !!! This time was a fivesome then a guy giving lessons to two people. He might have been a 25 handicapper. NO Marshal employed period. It’s a great course, in good condition,, just a madhouse at the turn.
Friendly and open club
I just played a practice round and course was good and golf cart came by a few times. Talked to the greens mowers and they were cool as he11
$18 for two ready made dry sandwiches and two bags of chips. Seems like a lot to me. No water available on the course. The course itself was very nice. Good shape and good layout.
Greens and fairways ok
Greens and fairways were ok but the bunkers are all overgrown and not well kept. I was overall unimpressed. It’s a mediocre course.
Course was beautiful, starter was rude.
Starter was super abrasive to the group in front of us and rude, also was upset my partner wasn’t 15 minutes early so we can start early. We ended up starting right on time and paired up with another 2some and had a great time. Solid course, and club house.
Challenging
A lot o different lay outs on the holes. Overall condition was very good. The roughs are tuff.
Slow play
We got behind 2, two-some that held up our 4 some and the foursome behind us. We finally skipped hole 9 and went around them. Marshall needed.
