1757 Golf Club
About
Located just a few minutes from Washington Dulles International Airport, 1757 Golf Club is one of northern Virginia's most popular courses. The name comes from the same year that Loudoun County was founded. The golf course is definitely a shot-maker's layout with a diverse terrain that has elevation changes up to 30 feet. There are several risk-reward opportunities as well. Well positioned tee shots will be generously rewarded with accessible approach shots but if you're errant, you'll have to deal with a tough recovery. The golf course is fairly tight so accuracy is a necessity. There are also water hazards on 14 holes and the rough can also be punishing. 1757 Golf Club finishes with an intimidating par 3 that plays over water to a shallow green. You'll need a bold stroke to avoid a watery grave.

Only front nine open
Just went out to work on my game before a golf trip to Myrtle Beach. This course is close to our condo in Ashburn, Va. I wasn't informed until I arrived that only the front nine was open due to a tournament of some sort. The man in the pro shop said GOLFNOW was to let everyone know. I would have went elsewhere had I known. This is a great golf course with friendly staff and a well maintained course. I just would have made other arrangement had I known.
Thank you for your review. We apologize for the miscommunication- if you would like to discuss this further, please feel free to reach out to us at info@1757golfclub.com. We are delighted that our course conditions meet your expectations and hope to see you again soon.

Off Season Play
1757 was one of the few courses open after the snow melted and I am glad they were. The course was actually in the best shape it’s been in the last 12 months. Kudos to the staff for staying on top of course care over the winter!

Very tough course
The course was in good shape, especially for the winter and wet year. The course is very tough. Not for pretenders. Not many trees. There are many shots over or near water.
Pretty ordinary
The course layout is the best thing about 1757. It’s quite interesting and challenging. I was here in March ‘18 and the conditions. The fairways were not as lush, and the greens were somewhat beat up. 1757 is a high volume course, and they move people through well. I just thought that even the $59 after 12:00 was steep. The service was good and it was staffed well. Just looks and feels like it could be better maintained from tee to green. Bunkers had adequate sand that was well prepared.
The course is well maintained
1757 Golf Course located in Sterling, Va is a great place to enjoy the best golf layout while utilizing the best equipment such as golf carts that are in great shape, clean and sound you barely know it’s running. Staff is always wanting to help, very courteous and well trained. They know they are there to support in any way possible. Just a great experience. Course maintenance is highly commendable. If you have never played 1757, don’t wait sign up and play.
Aerated Greens
Quite simply, it should be illegal to charge full rate for aerated greens.
There should be signs posted at the starters station and in the pro shop informing you the greens are now Aerated and covered in sand and therefore the rate will be discounted considerably.
Golfnow.com used to have Aeration alerts, but I believe they went away for obvious reasons.
Short Course But Excellent Conditions
1st time playing and I will be back. Had some members play with me which was a huge help. Lots of water but if you hit a straight tee ball you can score well. Greens were like all the greens in Northern VA (idiots don't fix their ball marks). Fairways were excellent and greens rolled well despite the ball marks. Starters were very helpful. Pace of play was excellent - done in 3.5 hours.
Great Round
The course was in great shape. The amenities were impressive. My only complaint was that there was sand all over all of the greens. Still worth it and I'll almost certainly be back.
Two days in a row here!
Played here on back to back days and both days were good! Yesterday (Wednesday) the range was closed but today that was not an issue. The range has some new portable canopies that cover a good majority of the range. Good to keep patrons out of the heat! The restaurant has some good food as well. Popped in early before my round to catch some of the Open and the sliders were phenomenal. The round was a bit slow in the early holes but once we got to the 7th or so, things opened up and it wasn’t a problem. Played in about 4 hrs and 20 and that was as a threesome. Not too bad. Course is in great shape for this time of year and the greens were rolled this morning and they really rolled smooth and fast. I don’t know if I’d play this course on weekends as all the water hazards can really slow the play down. Otherwise, it’s a good course to come out with some buddies and enjoy a pleasant summer afternoon. Bring bug spray! Gnats were out today.
Beautiful day and awesome course conditions
Had a fun afternoon here at 1757. Couldn’t have asked for better weather in mid July. Perfect sunshine and 80 degrees! Course was in great shape considering the heat and dry weather we have had. Greens were also in good shape and firm and fast. Fairways were dense and well manicured. Course is a tough one if you’re not in play! I like the mix of holes you get where driver is not the play on most holes..even par 5s! A lot of trouble off the tee but if you are in the fairway you can score. Shot 50 on the front and considered giving up golf but then shot a 38 on the back...dumb game we play isn’t it? Play was a bit slow since there were some walking juniors ahead of us but still finished in less than 4 hrs. Cart girl made her way around several times so not too bad overall!
nice course but don't make a mistake!
I like playing here but you will get penalized for bad shots and its easy for a good hole to turn bad quick. But thats golf but I would not call this course wide open at all. Not long but if you miss by much its plus one and a drop.
Fun course
I really enjoyed the course set-up, it forced me to hit different shots off the tee box from driver to mid-irons. The only issue I had is with the greens. the greens were significantly pitted from players failing to repair their ball marks, as well as being different speeds on a couple of holes.
Not my favorite
The practice facility here is top notch. I'm not a fan of the golf course. If you play it, I suggest bringing a ton of golf balls. I'm a 10 HC, and I burned through 2 sleeves. Its tight and pretty unforgiving. There is a part 3 over 250 yards. Why?! Just and oddly set up course that is more frustrating than fun. But if you are looking for a plane to practice or take a lesson, this is the spot.
1757 Cares About Revenue, Not Experience
I would not recommend. 1757 put our group directly behind a juniors tournament forcing a 5 & half hour round of golf on the hottest day of the year. I support junior golf, but I think it's unfair both to the tournament and paying customers to fill up a tee sheet & create a log-jam to create revenue. The greens were not fantastic nor were the fairways. Moreover, 1757 had the audacity to charge us full price. Needless to say, I will not return.
