1757 Golf Club
About
Located just a few minutes from Washington Dulles International Airport, 1757 Golf Club is one of northern Virginia's most popular courses. The name comes from the same year that Loudoun County was founded. The golf course is definitely a shot-maker's layout with a diverse terrain that has elevation changes up to 30 feet. There are several risk-reward opportunities as well. Well positioned tee shots will be generously rewarded with accessible approach shots but if you're errant, you'll have to deal with a tough recovery. The golf course is fairly tight so accuracy is a necessity. There are also water hazards on 14 holes and the rough can also be punishing. 1757 Golf Club finishes with an intimidating par 3 that plays over water to a shallow green. You'll need a bold stroke to avoid a watery grave.

One Hour Delay DUe to Double Booking
Can't believe they had a double booking situation and delayed teetime for an hour! I called in the morning to try to add another player but the guy on the phone didn't mention any delay at all. Frost delay in a day when temperature reached 67 degrees in the afternoon? I don't think so.
It was a rainy day.
For the price was a great course. No water can in the course. Few areas that the grass was cut but didn't pick the grass from the floor. Few holes I saw the ball bounce and then didn't find it because of the grass that hasn't pick. Other than that was a great course. Definitely will visit again.
Solid, But Not Life-Changing
There are plenty of things to appreciate about 1757: well maintained, friendly staff, and a terrific practice facility. But the layout is only so-so. Aside from the beautiful No. 18, the holes don't really stick with you.
If I were a local, I'd probably play here a couple times a year and would be fine with it. But if you're coming in from out of town and are looking for something special, this is probably not the first place you should try.
Excellent as always!
Despite it being so late in the season, the greens were lightening fast; and the tee boxes were is good shape.
For a sunny, warm afternoon in October, we played our round in 4 hours. Great job by the marshal keeping groups moving!
Great condition
Course is in great shape. Fairways and greens are very well maintained. Great pro shop and driving range as well
Gimmick Course
This place is a gimmick. It's good for two things. 1) Guys that have perfect distance control with Driver. 2) Golfers that cannot hit more than 200 yards.
There's nothing worse than a golf course that penalizes you for hitting the ball long off the tee. This is definitely one of them. I see this quite often in courses that don't have enough room. They just end the fairway at 205 yards and you're hitting 6 iron in. Great way to have a sub 400-yard par four and make guys hit mid irons. They have a hole that's a 7-iron, 9-iron. Then it's followed by a 241 par 3. That's a joke. Very poorly laid out course that finishes with a par 3. Only par 5s are 9 and 10. You even have to hit tee balls to perpendicular fairways.
Course has NO YARDAGE BOOK, and it's very poorly marked. No, I don't want to download your app to play the course. Never go here. Total waste of money unless you can't hit the ball far.
Tried to give a second chance
I gave this course a poor review after the last time I played but agreed to give a second chance. Sadly the second time was worse than the first. Not only is this course extremely difficult but it is in horrible condition. Tee boxes are burned out, bunkers have little to no sand in them, greens look like a mine field and pace of play is ridiculously slow because so many people are spending 20+ min on each hole looking for their balls in the now waist high grass (it was only shin high for last review) just a few yards off of the fairways. And of course there are no martial's to be found to get things moving. As a 7 handicap I consider myself a fairly decent golfer but you stand around for 15 min between every shot it is impossible to get any type of rhythm going. They need to come out here with a bunch of weed eaters and cut down the waist high brush on every hole and invest in about 10 loads of sand to put in the bunkers. I would not play this course again for free at least not until they do some major improvements in the condition and the pace of play.
Short but tough course near Dulles airport
Challenging course, values accuracy over distance. Many water holes. Greens firm, undulating and fast. Bunkers not well maintained, not enough sand and supports like netting poking through. Course app for iPhone had nice tips and GPS. Would definitely play it differently the 2nd time. Enjoyed the round, still a bit pricey though even with GolfNow rate.
Short course with some well-placed water
First time was challenging by not knowing where the danger was. Greens were faster than most public courses, but fairly true. I'd like to play again soon.
Interesting and Challenging Course
First time playing the course. Green fee included a bucket of range balls which was nice. Played solo for the front nine then teamed up with another single golfer on back nine. Played in about 3 hours - played through two foursomes. Challenging course - lots of water, high rough and sand traps. There are a lot of holes where you need to carry your drive a fair distance to clear the long grass. The tees were in terrible condition, some of the traps lacked enough sand and some areas around the greens the grass was patchy. There are extensive golf training facilities at the course which I guess is why there were range balls all over the course. I lost a lot of balls on the front nine but played much better on the back nine. Overall, I enjoyed the round and would like to play again now that I know the layout a bit better.
Too packed for a Saturday
They had a huge group that blocked all the tee times in the morning, so they opened the times from 11:30 AM and the pace was soooooo slow. Also the course is not as good as it's used to be one year ago
Very Good Course
Course was in very good shape and the facilities are nice and new. Golf carts are bare bones and the course has few visual yardage markers relying instead on their app to provide yardage. It is awkward to keep checking the app.
S-L-O-W and difficult
This is a very difficult course unless you are a single digit handicap. There is very little margin for error if you are not in the fairway or hit the green. Many holes if you miss the fairway or green by 5- yards you are either in a pond or in knee high tick/gnat infested grass.. The course is difficult enough with the water but they really need to shear down the knee high grass. The course would still be challenging but people would not spend 10 min on every other hole looking for balls that they will never find. Because of the time people spent looking for balls it makes the pace of play unbearable. If you are going to play at 1757 you better give yourself a minimum of 5 hrs for 18 holes. On a good note the practice facility is fantastic and the staff is very friendly. Unfortunately unless the management company or grounds crew does something to clear out the overabundance of high grass , pace of play is intolerable.
Challenging but fair
You have to on your game for this course. There are a lot of carries over junk, very heavy roughs, and water-magnets. The 9th is the only carry over water.
On the plus side, it's a well laid out course. The fairways and greens are in great shape. The greens are fairly quick and very challenging with subtle breaks that are sometimes hard to read. My playing partner and I agreed that you'd have to play the course a few times to really get a feel for them.
A very enjoyable day.
nice experience
We had a good time on the course. It is challenging but not impossible. There is lots of water, but the fairways have room to hit.
Great practice facility, industrial views & busy roads on course
I like the practice facilities very much, and near the clubhouse on pleasant afternoons it's a festive atmosphere (cocktails and live music on the patio).
Note that the chipping, pitching and sand practice area is FOR MEMBERS ONLY.
The course is bunk, however. The course is surrounded by massive power lines, busy roads and industrial buildings. Once away from the clubhouse area, the view is not pleasant.
Additionally, there is water in play on almost every hole, sometimes in unfair locations. Unless you are a single digit handicap, you will be frustrated.
I suggest a massive investment in mature trees around the perimeter and drying our ' filling in some of the water elements. That won't happen, so I'll just go to practice.
Very nice
First time playing and the first few holes were hard to read. The course map was limited and there were some uncharted changes. But we were greeted by a ranger who followed us and gave us pointers.
Fun, but lots of water!
Great mother's day. Due to heavy rain the day before course was very wet. But we still had a great day and the greens were in good condition.
Restaurant is closed on Saturdays for private functions. Doesn't seem to have a 19th hole with view to 18th as most nicer courses have.
