1757 Golf Club
About
Located just a few minutes from Washington Dulles International Airport, 1757 Golf Club is one of northern Virginia's most popular courses. The name comes from the same year that Loudoun County was founded. The golf course is definitely a shot-maker's layout with a diverse terrain that has elevation changes up to 30 feet. There are several risk-reward opportunities as well. Well positioned tee shots will be generously rewarded with accessible approach shots but if you're errant, you'll have to deal with a tough recovery. The golf course is fairly tight so accuracy is a necessity. There are also water hazards on 14 holes and the rough can also be punishing. 1757 Golf Club finishes with an intimidating par 3 that plays over water to a shallow green. You'll need a bold stroke to avoid a watery grave.

Nice Round
Nice but green needs to done with aeration process and it will be much better.
Nice course.
It's a nice course, lots of water, and nice staff.
Nice track
Range wasnt open so didnt get to hit balls. would have been nice if they could have given a raincheck to hit some other time.
Target-Practice
Fun, challenging. Gotta hit the shots and club select appropriately. Landing areas are visible, but tough to hit. Long Par 3's, Good Par 5's and plenty of water and Par 4's to run up your score. Greens were aerated 3 weeks ago, but were fast and only a little bumpy. Staff is excellent and friendly-good practice areas, good range. I will return!
First round of Spring
The course was in great shape, although they had just aerated and top dressed a few days prior so the greens were very sandy - but they should be prime in a few weeks. We saw a bald eagle on 10, it swooped down and flew right over top of us - so majestic, I have seen eagles on this course on several occasions now, for being tucked into a bustling suburb this course boasts some great wildlife. As for the golf, a 40 on the easier back 9 kept my score respectable. The course has become more & more playable as they have cut back trees and cut down waste areas, but watch out for the water!
Early season round
I like 1757 Golf Club, but you need to play the course a few times...here is why...while no overly long it is a "target" golf course. You need to know your distances to avoid the many hazards on the course, and there is no GPS in the carts. There were not any water buckets out, no ball washers, etc, which was a little disappointing. Looking forward to getting back out there when they are fully up and ready for play.
Nice course in VA
This was my first time playing this course and I believe this course started out as private and switched over to public. Anyhow, the practice facility is the best I've ever seen and something that you could spend hours just practicing away up there that how awesome it is. The course is pretty nice and worth getting out to check it out. Usually have some good deals online that you can scoop up, and course seemed to be in pretty nice shape. Worth it to check it out if you haven't been.
Impressed
Green
Green and
Green!!!
Very good shape and challenging.
Golf in mid December
The course was in great condition for mid-December and the staff were very friendly.
Upscale Public Golf
Nice track. From the tips it's a challenging round. More than half the holes have water on tee shot or approach. Greens rolling well. Definitely worth the $$$. High handicappers beware. Bring a few extra sleeves of balls.
Challenging Course that is in great shape for this time of the year
This is a great course and should be on your must play list. Despite the current time of the year when most of the area courses are in maintenance layup, 1757 is still in great shape. Love the course.
par 70 quirky layout
first time playing 1757, course is in nice shape, has challenging holes but more of a target course, didn't need driver except for 2 or 3 holes from the blue tees. short par 5 on front 9 should be a par 4 but then course would be a par 69, but had a couple very long par 3's, over 220. i wouldn't play here again mostly because the price point and strength of the layout, but i prefer a traditional par 72 course with a better balance of accuracy and distance for scoring.
Fun course
Course is in great condition greens are super
Overall great value for the price
Only drawback to this course is pace of play well over 4and half hours
Great But Tough Course
Challenging course with water hazards and narrow fairway necks on many holes. Great conditions, typically, but slow play even during the week. Don't go right!
Nice Venue
1757 is not a tough course. More of a thoughtful course as it requires making accurate shots. Hit it straight and all will be well. If to, you'll lose a bunch of balls. All staff incredibly friendly.
One of the best in Northern VA
Good practice facility and nice setting near the Dulles Airport. Very good layout and challenging if you play from a back tee. If you can't hit straight, bring lots of balls.
Stay dry and you will love this course
1757 is a course that is pretty comparable to many other courses in the D.C. area. It is a course that is very fair in terms of length, course conditions and overall challenges. Some holes have a links-like feel, with long grass on either side of the fairways. If you go into the tall stuff, keep an eye on your ball because it is often findable/playable as long as you can track it down. The fairways and greens are in good shape, and the rough is not too penalizing. The one major challenge on this course is water. Water comes into play on the majority of the holes, so it is critical to hit your driver in fairways on this course. The par-3's are difficult as well, with the real bear presenting itself on number 7. The scorecard has this par-3 at 210, but yesterday it was 268 yards. I should also mention that 1757 has the nicest range/practice facilities of any course I have ever played (including Congressional). All in all, I like this course a lot. I don't play it much because their in-season rates can be a little on the high side, but I'd certainly recommend this course to anyone.
This course has good features
Bunker have no sand other than that it's pretty good
Aerated - no warning!
Showed up to play the course for the first time really looking forward to it. Learned at check-in that they had aerated the greens 3 days before. They gave us a $10 discount off the tee time, but, playing so infrequently, I don't want to play on greens that have been punched and have sand all over them. Then they paired our twosome up with another, while there were twosomes all over the course - and we had to continuously let them play through. Disappointing.
1757 - Challenging Course
Played 1757 this past Sunday and I can tell you this is a must play for anyone looking for a challenge.
The overall condition of the course for mid August was very good. The tee boxes, fairways, and greens were all in very good shape. Greens rolled true and above average for speed. Fairways were well maintained and very green. As one would expect, the rough off the fairways was pretty burnt (dormant) out.
After the first few holes my impression of the course was that it was wide open. I quickly found out that this was not the case. This course really challenges you to make accurate shots both on the tee box and fairways. Anything outside of the first cut of rough is either going to be lost due to the length of the grass, or it's going to be marked with RED or WHITE stakes. Looking at some of the past reviews where people commented on bringing lots of extra golf balls is not far from the truth. I lost more balls that day than I have in 10 years. Bottom line is, like any other course, if you can keep your ball in the fairway, you can score on this course.
What will bring me back to 1757 is the facility and the staff. From the time we checked in at the Pro Shop to when we left the restaurant/bar, everyone treated us like they appreciated our business. And to me, that's the easiest way to get me to come back and play.
