1757 Golf Club
About
Located just a few minutes from Washington Dulles International Airport, 1757 Golf Club is one of northern Virginia's most popular courses. The name comes from the same year that Loudoun County was founded. The golf course is definitely a shot-maker's layout with a diverse terrain that has elevation changes up to 30 feet. There are several risk-reward opportunities as well. Well positioned tee shots will be generously rewarded with accessible approach shots but if you're errant, you'll have to deal with a tough recovery. The golf course is fairly tight so accuracy is a necessity. There are also water hazards on 14 holes and the rough can also be punishing. 1757 Golf Club finishes with an intimidating par 3 that plays over water to a shallow green. You'll need a bold stroke to avoid a watery grave.

Challenging Course
Extremely challenging course, water on 15 of the 18 holes, fescue throughout, must be very accurate both off the tee and with irons. Only complaint is that the pace was slow nearly a five hour round on a Sunday afternoon teed off at 3 at was fighting the sun to finish. Beautiful practice range and facilities all around a very nice course.
Beautiful but challenging
Had an incredible time playing this lush, beautiful course. Took us a long time but worth every minute. Make sure to bring an extra couple boxes of balls because this course will take many of them from you. If you've got the skill and the money, 1757 is an excellent choice for you.
1757 club is challenging and fun
Good course with plenty of trouble, which requires accurate shots to targets on several holes.
Great Greens
The course was in excellent shape and the greens made it so enjoyable they putt so true !!!

Nice local course
It's hard to beat for the price. Staff are friendly and food is good.
The course will make you think about your shots but does give you a chance to shoot a lower score.
a bit pricey but excellent course - not for walkers!
I played my first round at 1757 this week. I'd had a business lunch there a month or so ago and the place looked gorgeous (food was outstanding and staff was awesome). The course itself was in GREAT condition but we'd had a large amount of rain the day before so it was cart path only which took away some strokes both from being annoyed about that and also for trekking across the fairway only to discover I'd selected the wrong club for the lie or distance.
Having said that, the greens were fantastic - rolled super true and extremely consistent from green-to-green. The fairways were like carpet. The rough was penal (probably longer than usual because of the rain)
Pace of play was OK for the first nine but (it was late in the afternoon - teed off at 2:40 on Sunday) the back was jammed up with long waits on every shot .... again, very annoying.
I generally walk the courses I play but try to ride the first time at a new course. When I heard it was Cart path-only I nearly walked (they young gents working the carts thought it was walkable) but am EXTREMELY glad that I did not. There are only one or two hills on the course but the distance from the clubhouse to the first and tenth tees has got to be at least a quarter mile. Many holes have just as much distance from green to tee - would be fun to walk but you would never keep up the pace of play or stay with those in carts. Leave your pull carts at home for this one folks.
Also, there's only one or two holes on the course where water does not come into play so make sure pay attention - it's not obvious on many shots that a water hazard cuts that deeply into the fairway, for example.
Good staff, course is not very good
Too many gimmicky holes, lots of driver and less then 100 yards to the green for the next shot, greens run nice although no one seems to repair ball marks for some reason, staff was nice and friendly, I just did not like the course layout at all for a mid to high priced round I did not feel the value was there.
Where are your Marshals?
Great restaurant, clubhouse, practice area and experience. Layout was a little tricked out but a fair test of golf with very true greens that rolled pure.
We went out at 11am on a Friday. We finished at 4:30pm. Yes, that's right, 4:30 a 5.5 hour round. I could only imagine this place on weekends. One guy I played with said it was "the home of the 5 hour round." On this day, 5 hours would have been a treat. For $100, you should have marshals governing pace of play. We waited on every single tee box and twice on Par 3's we had 3 groups on the hole - unacceptable.
I'm a 6 handicap and really enjoyed the course but until I hear pace of play gets better I will not be returning.
Thanks for your comments, and glad to hear that you were impressed with our facilities! The challenging course can occasionally cause rounds to exceed our 4 1/2 hour goal, but we've recently started experimenting with teeing folks off of #10 tee to play the back nine first, and the overall pace has improved!
Come back to see us again soon!
Thank you for sharing your feedback - both positive and negative - on your recent experience. We've been working with all of our course marshals to be sure we are helping golfers finish their rounds within our course's time rating of 4 hours & 40 minutes. We have instituted new procedures and guidelines to help us stay within that goal even in heavy times of play and we will be increasing our daily vigilance!
We have heard a few negative pace comments - particularly from groups following outing play - and we are working to maintain a 4 1/2 hour (or better) pace to help increase the enjoyment of our golf course!
Thanks again for recognizing our great facilities and guest service levels!
Slow
Love the course, and love the bag guys. Marshalling on this course is not existent. Not only did our round feel like it was taking forever, when we got to the 10th tee a threesome was trying to sneak on. We informed a marshall, and he ignored it. He allowed them to cut infron of a group 2 groups ahead, which of course made it even slower. It's my only problem with 1757 GC, slow!
Enjoyable day for golf
The day was really hot and humid but pace of play was on target. Kudos to marshals for being visible on the course. Foursome finished in 4:15.
Overall course and greens in good shape.
Will be back.
Great Course
This was are first time playing this course. The staff was great from the time we pulled in till we finished. T he starter Dennis was very helpful showing us were everything was. the course was fantastic great layout greens were fast and true. will be back very soon.
Thanks for your great comments - glad you enjoyed your day at 1757! Hope to see you again soon.
Nice set up all the way around
Great course to enjoy golf and food. The entire course and practice facility are set up nicely. Very friendly staff!
Course gets backed up on the weekends!
Be prepared to play a 5 or even 6 hour round on the weekends. Course gets backed up with all the league and corporate outings that take place on the weekends.
First time playing this course.
As this was the first time playing the course and conditions of the course we're great. Great scenary and fairways/greens. However, awful pace of play. Needed a Marshall to help and just so slow it was tough to enjoy as pace of play was excruciatingly slow.
Would have given it overall 5 stars if pace wasn't so bad. But I would recommend playing and will go back hoping the fix pace of play.
Just wonderful
This is a somewhat" hidden jewel" I believe; as I've driven by this area many times and didn't know it was there! Very well maintained and just tough enough for the "average" golfer (I'm a 12 handicap). The layout is a little strange out around 6,7,8; but I suppose Nichlaus was just fitting everything in to what he was given to work with. I was very surprised how true the greens putted and what good shape they were in relative to the amount of play they get. This is a wonderful practice facility also and the staff were very nice to everyone. There's no question that I'll be back as often as possible!
Tight course
1757 is good course with lot of challenge. The first 9 have lot of water around and tight, the back nine is more forgiving. The staff is friendly, practice facilities are second to none. From a price perspective not sure it commands the premium price for a the service and quality of course, it is still a decent value.
Terrible pace of play
Iam a local try to give these place a chance at least twice every year, and every time is the same.
First: the practice facility is great, food is great staff is great.
The course is great but the pace of play it is just terrible my round was 5 hours and 45 minutes,I do get it that if you pay you should play but so many on this course, have no bussines on trying to tee off in this corse the 3 some in front of us were hitting 3 balls every tee box not able to clear the tee box with their shots, then go look for their balls we time it once ten minutes looking for balls.
Again no marshall to speed up pace.
If you want spend the day away go here I dont recommend playing this course if you have a little or good game.
Thank you for playing our golf course and for sharing your comments on your experience. We appreciate your compliments on our outstanding practice facilities, food and service staff!
I'm sorry to hear than you had a less-than-enjoyable golf round when you visited last and that our team wasn't able to help you get around in a reasonable time. We do use course advisors / marshals whenever possible to help keep play moving, and we regularly keep the pace of play within our pace rating of 4.5 hours.
I will be sure to share your comments with our staff as your experience will serve as a reminder of the importance of using our printed pace-of-play guidelines when we find a group that might be slowing up the golfers behind them.
We hope to see you again soon at 1757!
Terrible golf operation
I had a 2:06 tee time. Finally got to tee off at 2:35, then it took 3 hrs and 15 minutes to play the front nine. 5 hrs and 45 minutes overall. Lousy greens, no marshalls, and much too tough a course for the hackers that were out there. There were 2-3 groups backed up on most tees on the front 9. I'll never play here again.
1757
Overall a real nice course with a lot of water and trouble.
Very good course in NOVA
Great layout for the course. Many different holes requiring the entire bag. Course condition should only get better with the weather. Staff is helpful and friendly. Grass range is a plus, but only available to members. Clubhouse has great food. Only complaint is the range is closed on Wednesdays and I wasn't notified.
