1757 Golf Club

About
Located just a few minutes from Washington Dulles International Airport, 1757 Golf Club is one of northern Virginia's most popular courses. The name comes from the same year that Loudoun County was founded. The golf course is definitely a shot-maker's layout with a diverse terrain that has elevation changes up to 30 feet. There are several risk-reward opportunities as well. Well positioned tee shots will be generously rewarded with accessible approach shots but if you're errant, you'll have to deal with a tough recovery. The golf course is fairly tight so accuracy is a necessity. There are also water hazards on 14 holes and the rough can also be punishing. 1757 Golf Club finishes with an intimidating par 3 that plays over water to a shallow green. You'll need a bold stroke to avoid a watery grave.

Over priced and cramped
Holes seem crammed into too small a space. Several holes are the same - dogleg right around a pond. A couple of stupid holes. Way over priced, reflecting the lack of competition for public golf nearby. Decent range, if you don't mind hitting off of mats. Nice clubhouse and restaurant.
Great course but gets back up
Course is great STAFF is awesome called me in advance to let me know both the greens and the tea boxes were aerated and sand would be on there if I wanted to cancel no charge water is challenging courses are challenging greens were potable and very accurate to read one of the only drawbacks was the having to wait on every T on the back nine for the group in front of us outside of that it’s an excellent course just wish they would manage their players better
Challenging
Nice course. Challenging. Greens aerated right now. Bring lots of balls. Water on 13 of 18. Oh yeah and they have a 239yd par 3.
Sandy greens
Would have changed to another day if I had know the greens were extremely sandy, could not putt at all, the fact it was very windy and cold made it a very unpleasant experience for my first time playing the course.
The course staff did call me two day before about the tee boxes being air rated, but did not mention the greens. so give credit where credit is due. it shows the management did care about us players.
Nice course, could use some up-keep
1757 was a nice course. The challenging layout was fun, even in the hail and wind. For all I had heard about 1757 I was expecting the greens and fairways to be kept up a bit better. Not in bad condition, just a lot of ball marks and divots to be fixed. I look forward to playing again!
Course layout leads to slow play
1757 is overall average in my opinion. The problem is with 14 holes with water in play it slows down pace, and as a result leads to a lot of lost balls and a slow round. I’ve played worse but this still isn’t a place I’d recommend for someone looking for a round of golf. Their practice facility is top notch though. I’ve also heard rumors 1757 is going private.
Great course but play is way too slow
Took us 5.5hrs waiting every tee box. Makes the golf not fun at all. You have to find a way of speeding play up. Besides that, the course was really good. A little expensive but the course layout on the front 9 in particular is fantastic. Love the water holes on 4 and 5.
Good Course a bit slow
Took us just under 5 hours to play 18, which was a bit of a pain.
Interesting design, but there is a TON of water to the right on this course, as a heads up for those of you who have a right slice/miss.
Also, the lengths of the holes were seemingly random. With the tee positions where they were on Sunday, we played a 248 yd par 3 (not playing from the tips), then a bit later a 235 yd par four , so definitely gives some opportunity to be creative in how you use your shots.
