About
Conveniently located near downtown San Antonio not too far from Austin, Vaaler Creek Golf Club has a memorable layout of gently rolling hills dotted with creeks, ponds and lakes. The course begins with a challenging front nine and then eases up a bit on the back nine, but overall it is a formidable test. The greens are tricky and demanding, especially on the front nine where there are some severe slopes and undulations. The back nine greens are a bit flatter but they still require careful attention. The rolling, contoured fairways are lined with trees and there are deep bunkers strategically guarding the greens, but luckily there are only seventeen of them. Water hazards come into play throughout and there are also several doglegs and blind shots if there wasn’t enough to keep you on your toes.

Really fun layout. Somewhat challenging course. Very picturesque course. Overall conditions were really good for this time of year.. Definitely a course you want to play more than once .Very enjoyable pace of play was fantastic.
Fantastic course
We've played this curse several times and I have never been disappointed. This time was no exemption. The weather was cold in the morning and warm by 11am. The course was in fantastic condition. Highly recommend this course for the value and fun of the course itself.
Out of town course
This course is challenging on alot of holes, not for the novice golfer. Is a ways from San Antonio but we like to play it so make the drive when we are visiting.
Intriguing little layout
Vaaler Creek is definitely worth a trip out into the hill country for some thinking mans golf. It is a tough little layout that requires accuracy off the tee and thought around the greens.
The toughest hole is a contest between 9 and 18. 9 is a mid length par three with a large green with a huge back to front slope in the middle of it. If the pin is back there is probably only 1/5 of the green that is accessible without being affected by the slope. And with a hazard over the back you cannot he long.
On 18 for a decent approach shot across the water you need to take your drive to the lowest point just short of the water. A downhill lie with a water carry is not much fun!
Oh this day the greens were running super slow, but they were true.
Nice practice range and open air bar area. Not walkable sadly.
Another beautiful day in the Texas Hill Country
Love this course tucked into the undulating hills outside of Blanco. We had a bluebird day, and the course conditions matched. For a fair test of your shotmaking skills, this course will not disappoint.
Great after we went around the 5some!
Started off excellent til we got to the 3rd hole and the group in front made us wait way too long! We finally played thru on 6 and it was smooth sailing after that! Course conditions were excellent!
Beautiful track
We booked Vaaler Creek based on numerous recommendations, and we were not disappointed. The weather was pretty miserable (rainy, cool), but that just meant we basically had the course to ourselves. That allowed us to play at a decent pace and to really get to know the course. Each staff member we encountered was friendly and helpful, and the course itself is great.While it's quite a drive from San Antonio (45 minutes for us), we will definitely play here again. Highly recommend!
This amazing course
This course was in amazing shape while all the other courses are pretty dried out. The greens were in amazing shape and ran a very good speed. Overall I had a great time and can’t wait whet back again and play this course
Great Course
It doesn’t matter what time of year it is the course is always in perfect shape. It is a tough course and will challenge you. It is about a hour to 1 1/2 hrs from my house but definitely worth the drive!!!
Great fun with some interesting challenges
Played the course for the first time with a friend and had no idea such a gem was hidden near Blanco. Some good challenges for a novice golfer, and the entire course was in good shape.

Valler Creek Golf Course
Vaaler Creek Golf Course is located.in the Hill
Country and the fairways were over seeded to add to the beauty of the course. The greens are large and very undulated and pin placements are challenging to say the lest. All in al the course is a great place to play and the Staff and personnel are very courteous. This is the second time we played this course mainly because it is so well taken maintained. One that you need to visit if in the area!!!

Couple of quirky holes, but overall a great challenge.
Texas hill country views and plenty of trees .
Very good practice range and putting green.
