Olympia Hills Golf Course
About
Olympia Hills Golf Course is very exciting and enhances San Antonio's reputation as a golf destination. A unique combination of natural topography and man-made mounds and bunkers make this a super course. Native South Texas vegetation and golf course grass seed formulations on fairways and greens will provide state-of-the-game playing surfaces. The views are spectacular, with several holes playing to greens well below the tees, while other lead to a significant rise to reach the putting surface. Fairways, which on some holes are tight, are often sloped and guarded by bunkers. The tips will not be played by the faint hearted, but with four sets of tee boxes, the course can be enjoyed by all levels of players.

Construction and givemes
When you pull into the course, you’re greeted with a nice clubhouse and a beautiful practice green. Once you go to play your round however, the course is under construction and the tee boxes are chewed up. The greens are some of the worst I’ve ever seen. Dried out and mostly cobblestone looking dirt. My buddy and I had to give club length givemes as the greens are unreadable
Needs attention
Majority of the Tee boxes are scalped and greens are just dirt patches. Some of fairways are in decent condition. Used to love this course but right now it’s not worth the price.
Not so envious Greens
Start with bad: Construction through the front nine terrible gave serious Billy Madison with a touch of mini golf vibes. We were told on arrival that the greens were in kind of bad shape (understatement) when in reality I do not believe there was any grass on them, only mud. Made it hard to want to putt after making it to the green. Carts had torn seats even though we were among the first to show up at the course.
Good: clubhouse was clean and staffed with friendly people. Fairways were nice and well maintained. Cost was decent due to maintenance but probably still high, $50 and can’t really putt is meh.
Horrible Greens
Greens were straight mud. Construction everywhere.
Dead greens
The condition of this course is the worst I have ever seen in my entire life. Place of play is also incredibly slow because they pack tee times back to back.
Greens
The greens were completely destroyed. Paid $88 for two players when we probably should have just been charged for cart.
BAD Greens
All 18 GREENS have been destroyed. I was putting on crusted dirt. I was later told the Green's Keeper tried to rid the green of something and instead KILLED every GREEN. The course did not reduce their rate or disclose the deficiency of the greens. I do not know when or if I will play at this course.
Greens are dead
Love this course but all of the greens are dead and it’s impossible to putt.
Course conditions
The course layout is very good, fairways in great condition. However, the greens are terrible, hardly any grass on them. This wasn’t mentioned on the website for making t times. If they repair the greens, it would be a great course to play.
No greens
Literally, no greens! They are without grass! And then there are two extra par 3’s because of a flood control project!
interesting layout
Two to three holes are under construction, they don't know when they will be finished. At least 90% of the greens are dirt. No information on the website on condition of the greens.
Greens are terrible
Greens are in terrible shape; 1/2 grass 1/2 crusted over dirt
Terrible course conditions
Olympia needs to be responsible and either shut down for a period of time to allow greens to grow through the last portions of rain or make this a $10 course. Nobody should be paying anything above $30 for a course that is under major repair and has not one single green that’s playable.
Fix the greens.
Fairways and tee boxes in great shape. But the greens were like putting on scorched earth. Like a burnt pool table
Greens are destroyed
When I booked my reservation, the site did not mention that two of the holes had been turned from Par 4s into 100 yd Par 3s due to construction, nor that the greens had been utterly destroyed and were baked dirt. I would have gone elsewhere, had I known. The course is in such bad shape that, in my opinion, the only reasonable choice is to shut down or completely re-sod the greens.
Save your money
Greens are in terrible shape. May as well be playing on dirt.
