The Quarry Golf Course
About
The land that now provides a home to Quarry Golf Course was formerly the abandoned Alamo Cement plant. Keith Foster converted this unique location into a challenging layout with a links-style front nine and a back nine that plays entirely through an abandoned rock quarry with walls over a 100 feet tall on three sides. The first half of the golf course features plays through open fields of rolling hills with native grasses and a near absence of trees. Creeks and streams come into play on six holes of the front nine. The quarry pit on the back nine is truly the most unique feature on the golf course. Quarry Golf Course's most dramatic hole is the 17th, which requires a tee shot over a deep ravine that is framed by a 40-foot waterfall.

Immaculate Round
Alamo Quarry has to be one of the best ran courses in the city. Great pace of play great condition.
Great track!
Good staff, facility, greens, course layout etc. won’t be dissapointed
My Favorite Course
I love this course. I’m a Kentuckian, but when I’m in San Antonio I always make time for The Quarry! Is is my absolute favorite golf course!
Great Golf!
The Quarry is an excellent golf course with great conditions and wonderful staff. Always a great place to play. A must while in San Antonio!
Absolutely stunning and excellent service
As first timers we were utterly impressed. From bag drop to course conditions, this course is “a must” when you visit San Antonio!
Way to slow & too long of a round
Hit a shot & wait 10 min that was the routine. There were 4 groups on 1 hole. Even after the Marshall’s assisted by talking to the slow group it got better but not by much. The course & staff are great. Pace of play is horrible. We got to talking with the group in front of us & we were all in agreement that this happens too often at this course. They need to space out times, monitor the carts to see where there is congestion, send a message to slower groups via cart message, or have someone with eyes on have a group play through to assist the pace. Last time round was 5 hours, this time we skipped 2 holes due to congestion, came back to play those holes & got stuck again so the round took 4:40. We have played early, mid day, and late afternoon & it has to be the longest round in town.
Awesome, unique and challenging course
Not a long course, but plenty of challenges, especially on the back 9 in the quarry. Great layout that makes up for the lack of distance by having many holes where driver is either not needed or can’t be used (for longer hitters).
The two nines are completely different, with the front being a more traditional layout while the back is much more like a links course (within the quarry). When you get to #10 you can see all 9 holes with fescue and heather lining most fairways, and many holes where the steep quarry walls come into play. The last two holes are the most intimidating on the course with the quarry walls to your right and steep dropoffs to your left.
Overall, one of the more unique and fun courses I’ve played! Well worth the visit, and we finished in under 4 hours on a Saturday morning!
A great track
Quarry is links style layout in very good condition. Friendly staff provide excellent golf experience. Wonderful practice facility yet you cannot hit woods on driving range. Can't wait to play here again.
Great play!
Golf course is in great condition. Always a fun course to play. Service is wonderful as well. A must play in San Antonio.
Pace of Play issues
It’s a shame that a group’s experience at a very nice golf course, with friendly staff and nice course conditions, can be ruined by the course not having a martial. We paid $95 for a noon tee time, only to have to cut the round short after being so frustrated with pace of play. At no time should a group be allowed to have a tripod and taking video on every tea box and green, for whatever social media purposes they may have, it’s a sure giveaway that they are probably not going to keep pace, and not have the courtesy to let the groups behind through….
It’s going to be a while before we return, unfortunately!
