Olympia Hills Golf Course

No problems at all with the course itself, workers in pro shop and the starter at the first hole were super friendly.

Nice course had some spots that were dry and some tee boxes that were hard. But with south texas weather it’s to be expected

I had booked an 8 am tee time on Friday, August 4th for Monday, August 7th. When we arrived, the tee time was cancelled for some reason but the fellow in the pro shop got us off at 8:08 which was terrific. I always enjoy playing here.

Quality of course grass was average; greens with crabgrass, but perhaps the most annoying was the addition of my e-mail address to their newsletter, which was totally unsolicited and unwelcome. They should have the decency of asking before flooding my inbox with junk e-mails, or at least provide a button to unsubscribe.

Overall the course is in good shape. The greens needed a lot of work back on Memorial Day and they seem to be recovering. They clearly sprayed them green recently, but even without it they rolled better (with the exception of 3 or 4 holes) than they were a couple months ago.

First time playing Olympia hills for a somewhat new golfer. I really enjoyed the round, the greens were great and well kept, course was amazing and challenging. The starter was on top of things. Didn’t see the beverage cart but maybe 2 times during the 18 holes. Maybe they were really busy who knows. GPS in the carts is an huge plus. The online ordering for food and drinks did not work off the QR code in the cart. Seems like that should be removed if it’s not going to work. Over all really good course would recommend to others.

Played with a mixed couples foursome; pace was somewhat slow but bearable. Course Marshal on Hole #8 chastised us for slow play when it was readily evident that there were at least 3 foursomes and a threesome walking directly in front of us. Told him we couldn't play any faster than the group in front; when we arrived at Hole #11 there was a non-profit fundraiser occurring which was the reason for the delays. The marshal was simply an idiot reacting to another player's complaint. He did not ride to the point of the delay, but instead chose to chastise our group. Turned a great round for 4 into an average round...we completed the 9th and spent 15 minutes laughing at him with the 2 groups in front while waiting to play the 10th.

Course was very nice I know we were a twosome but group in front would not let us thru on several occasions they hit multiple balls of tee they played from back tees they we’re definitely not capable of playing from back there

What an amazing golf course for a great price! Conditions were great and the staff was amazing. One of my favorite courses to play in San Antonio area. Thank you to Sal Garcia for doing such a great job at this course.

Play adolympia a lot. Staff is great. Always a challenging course. You can't go wrong

Extremely disappointing for the $70 rate. Good pace of play, course conditions were very poor. Greens need a lot of work. To make matters worse, we were paired with someone who attempted to use playing on the course as their first experience playing golf, rather than going to the range until such time that you can confidently make contact with the ball. Several swings where he completely missed the ball altogether. Our twosome ended up, leaving after nine given the course conditions, and having to play with golfers that clearly was the first time they picked up golf clubs. Given the considerable play golf courses are receiving now, there are some like this course that have not reinvested in the course, disappointing!
