About
Olympia Hills Golf Course is very exciting and enhances San Antonio's reputation as a golf destination. A unique combination of natural topography and man-made mounds and bunkers make this a super course. Native South Texas vegetation and golf course grass seed formulations on fairways and greens will provide state-of-the-game playing surfaces. The views are spectacular, with several holes playing to greens well below the tees, while other lead to a significant rise to reach the putting surface. Fairways, which on some holes are tight, are often sloped and guarded by bunkers. The tips will not be played by the faint hearted, but with four sets of tee boxes, the course can be enjoyed by all levels of players.

Mostly good.
Staff were super friendly. They had a morning tournament that ran overtime so our tee time was pushed back half an hour due to carts unavailable. Not a problem for our twosome as we are on. Vacation.
Pace of play a bit slow. We played the last 5 holes behind a 7 some!!!!
Greens very nice. Well maintained
The course played difficult for us who are high handicappers has the ball rolled forever and if you don’t get it down the center of the fairway it rolls into the weeds and trees. This would improve if we were to play it again.
Overall a very nice municipal course.
Poorly managed day
Tee times for the day all pushed 30+ minutes because supposedly more women than expected showed up for a morning tournament.
Poor Coordination
Got to the course early to check-in and warm up. I was told there was a senior ladies tournament that morning and the ladies showed up with more golfers than expected. Therefore, my tee time had been moved back 45 minutes. Never received a call or text about the delay or an apology. Advised the golf coordinator that was unacceptable. A 10 - 15 minute delay is one thing but almost an hour is ridiculous and that he should have told the ladies that they brought too many players and should have limited their field. Because, it goes without saying that their pace of play was extremely slow. And of course they were short of carts and the practice range is about 500 yards from the clubhouse. The fairways and tee boxes were extremely dry and hard.
Olympia
Greens were pretty bumpy and fairways lacking grass. But it’s a beautiful course and a real challenge.
Pace of Play Far Too Slow
1:44 tee time not early enough to complete round. Made it to 17 green and had to stop. Had fun, just wish we could have completed the round.
A real beating
The course was affected by winter conditions. However most greens were only fair and the bunkers were poor. Played on a Saturday and expected not to be too fast but the round took 5-1/2 hours. There was no marshal to move things along. Also, rented clubs that were the worst I ever seen.
Not winter proof
Probably due to winter season but this course was dry as a desert!! Fairways were dry and crispy, club would just bounce off hard ground/fairway. The photo gallery on website is 100% deceiving at this time (Feb2022). I may give this course a try in summer but Never at this time again.
