ShadowGlen Golf Club

Shadowglen is simply the best public golf course facility in the Austin area right now. Worth $50 easily, a great deal when you can get it for less.

We haven’t played here in a pretty long time but everything has gone up hill! They just had some clubhouse renovations and the course is in great shape for this time of year! Really excited to see how it is in the coming months. The one thing I’ve always heard about shadowglen is that they have excellent beverage cart service but we didn’t see her until we were on 18 today around 12:45 so be sure to stop at the turn just in case. Other than that we had a great time and will be adding it to our regular courses!

We had a lovely time at ShadowGlen. Pace was a bit slow to start but then smoothed out, we never felt rushed at any point and all of the other golfers were friendly and we have a good impression of this place. Course was fantastic, it was great to see such lush green fairways, tee blocks in good shape. Play off 3.4, found it rather challenging but plenty of scoring opportunities. Rather hilly, especially on back 9 so can be a slog to walk. The paths and buggy tracks were in better shape than other courses we have played. Staff were friendly and helpful nothing too much trouble for them

Beautiful layout and conditions despite the rain last night.

Played on Wednesday night for the Spark Golf League. We were double stacked on 5 tees instead of spread out over the 9 holes which made for an incredibly slow play time we played the last 2 holes pretty much in the dark. Checking in was quick but it took a while to get a beer at the bar. Course played really nice fairways and tee boxes were very nice. Cart girls came around and were friendly and got us cold drinks and chit chatted while we were waiting (that was definitely a plus). By the time we finished 2.5 hours later they had closed up the bar inside and refused to serve us which was a little upsetting as all the other groups that had finished had drinks and were able to stay and drink while we had to leave. Plus for the course, negative for the spacing of play, plus for the cart girls, negative for the girl/bar inside.

Had much a great day playing at Shadow. Challenging course and wind made it more difficult. Fairways were FIRE! The greens could have been better but sure it was due to freeze! Pace of play was good for a Friday afternoon. Really loved the young vibe here. Beverage cart and bar girl were awesome! 10/10 would play again

Fairways are excellent. Some greens are a little thin still but it’s early in the season. Some new improvements have been made and they continue to make this course better and better. Grant and his team are excellent as always. One of the most challenging hidden gems in the Austin area

Nice course, better later as course conditions anywhere are only OK right now. Bunkers were decent and the course is challenging, especially if you’ve never played it. I bit pricey for the conditions right now.

Loved this course, the staff was super friendly and helpful, I was late to my tee time and they found someone to bring me to my group. Course was gorgeous to say the least good mix of holes, I’ve played lots of nice courses and was shocked to see a public course as Nice as this place. Will he back

Got out for only $31. As an experience golfer from Las Vegas with top tier courses, it’s tough to find value like that out here in Texas. This course came close. The fairways were amazing!! (Especially incredible after the freeze we just had) Pace was awesome. Carts were good. Only cart path only 2 holes. Bunkers had perfect sand. Highlight was how fun the course layout was. First time there and I had a blast. A couple reachable par 4’s for big hitters. But plenty of challenging length on par 5’s. Good long yardage course for those who want it. Water was beautiful. I will definitely go back for that value. Especially for under $40.

This place has really stepped up in last year and it’s great to have another nice course in the area to play. Can be slow on weekends with all the mediocre golfers but still decent pace if you tee off early enough. Course is fun for something different then every other course in austin, it is challenging yet fair, greens usually good. Not quite up to Falconhead/Star ranch quality but rumor has it they’re replacing their staff with star ranch people so I’m sure that will help this place continue to change.

Played this course dozens of times and have never been disappointed. For late February it was in very good condition and the greens were receptive and rolled well. Some easy birdie holes and some real tough ones which any good layout should have.

Played after the big Texas week of freeze. They had water damage in pro shop, but adapted very well to accommodate play. The fairways were green and recently mowed. Crazy for this time of winter. This is a hidden jewel
