Two long par 4s (15 & 16) make for a meaty finish. Photo submitted by BrandonTuckerGA on 06/12/2017
Pace of play
Pace of play was terrible. Group in front of my group was 2 holes behind and no marshal around to over see coure. Same group in front of mine would drag there feet, thro the pin around on green like a spear and no one to manage the groups golf edicate.
Classic and maintained well enough
Just a cool course with lots of history. Some short par 4S and even a par 5, but it’s enjoyable when you don’t wanna pay $100+ green fees. Went on a Friday morning and wasn’t crowded.
Great staff, great food, good value for the money
Overall a very solid value. The course is in solid condition, and the layout, especially on the back 9, is nice. I can't give it 5 stars because I have to reserve that for courses that are on a differenr level. That said, I do recommend playing here.
Paired with a golfer that continued to search for lost balls or hitting multiple times. This action caused the Marshal to tell our group to speed up the pace of play.
Condition of coures.
Surprisingly Riverside has come a long way. I haven't played there in about a year due to coures connection being dry and not well managed. The coures is in much better condition. Congrats to whoever brought it back to PAR!!
Lack of familiarity and hot weather make this course tough
This course is not bad for the price and is typical for a Muni Course.
Beautiful Muni
Look, I'm going to go back. I had a great time. It's just a muni course, with everything that comes with that. Greens are rough on the front 9 especially. It's otherwise a lot of fun. Don't expect to get anything at the turn, though. There isn't one.
Solid Training Course
If you want to get reps in and meet some new golf buddies then this is the course for you!
Riverside Golf Course
Course was in pretty good shape in general due to a lot of rain recently. A couple of greens had some issues, probably from water run off, so large sandy patches that need to be repaired. But only on a couple of greens. Tee Boxes could use some work leveling tee areas and putting some seed down. Staff was very friendly, but when we finished around 4:30 after a somewhat plodding round of 5 hours, we got one drink and then the snack bar area was shut down. Cart girl was still working on the course and was pretty good about getting around. We saw her four times during the round I believe. I would give it a solid 4.5 rating. I've played there for 30 years and it's in much better shape than it's been in previous year.s
