About
Located just 15 minutes northeast of downtown Austin, ShadowGlen Golf Course is considered by locals to be one of the area's hidden gems. At 7,174 yards from the back tees, it is a long, tough course that will test even the most seasoned players. Some consider it to be the most difficult public golf course in Texas. The layout has a links design that is mostly flat but there are a few hilly spots that can cause some trouble, especially the holes that were designed with steep drops. The narrow fairways require accuracy and the well manicured greens play fast and are often bordered by strategically placed bunkers or contoured mounding. There are also water hazards coming into play throughout, including the wandering creek that cuts across the golf course.

Fun course nice people
Fun golf course, can be tricky at times though so be prepared to use your whole bag! Pretty good shape considering a week of freezing temperatures, pace of play was really good for how packed it was and staff was very polite. Thankful they were open, we’ll be back

Nothing but good things to say
This was my first time at this course and I normally don't write reviews for places but I was extremely impressed with ShadowGlen. The staff was all young and friendly, the driving range had lush grass and nice new range balls, not common at a lot of public courses. The starter got us out on time and we thoroughly enjoyed the playing the course. It is very beautiful but challenging and requires a lot of diversity with regards to hitting different trajectories. It was cold when we teed off then got hot and windy so not the easiest day to score but we will be back. Quality golfing experience without the uptight feel at a lot of places
Course is in excellent shape for late January
We played during the week for a "hot deal" rate and most certainly got our money's worth. The greens and tee boxes were in great shape. The fairway grass was thick, green, and mowed to a nice height. Pace of play was good; we were neither pushed or pushing others. I will play the course again.
Solid!
Great course, for this time of year wow was it in good shape tee to green. Friendly service from the staff, ad man whichever pro was working the shop in morning was down on range after and I've never seen a better golf swing. Kid must hit carry it 340. All in all we'll be coming out here more often they check all the boxes
ShadowGlen is the moooove
Yo this place is legit, best golf course to play on weekends if you're in the 26-35 range. Great young staff, they got a stellar beer selection and play good music, Bev cart service is always great. Oh ya and the course is pretty sick too back 9 is top 3 in atx great risk/reward finishing hole and its in arguably best shape of any course in town right now.

Wonderful Round of golf
Conditions were pleasing from tee box to greens. First time visitor who thoroughly enjoyed each hole's layout. Certainly at a disadvantage, but will try to master the course again soon.
Beautiful course
This course is in great shape and is an awesome layout. Quite possibly my favorite course in Austin right now. Just a great overall day, round went quick as nobody was out on course except for their teaching pro who is a PGA tour caliber player and drives it about 360 which was fun to see.
