About
Located just 15 minutes northeast of downtown Austin, ShadowGlen Golf Course is considered by locals to be one of the area's hidden gems. At 7,174 yards from the back tees, it is a long, tough course that will test even the most seasoned players. Some consider it to be the most difficult public golf course in Texas. The layout has a links design that is mostly flat but there are a few hilly spots that can cause some trouble, especially the holes that were designed with steep drops. The narrow fairways require accuracy and the well manicured greens play fast and are often bordered by strategically placed bunkers or contoured mounding. There are also water hazards coming into play throughout, including the wandering creek that cuts across the golf course.

Excellent conditions for late January!
It may be late January, but the course was in excellent condition. The fairway were green and the fairway lies were just right. Greens and tee boxes were also in very nice shape. My playing partner and I finished in just under 4 hours. The course is tough, but not unreasonably so. I will be returning for sure.
Nice Course overall
Nice enjoyable round today. Only slight negatives are tee areas are small and get chewed up quite a bit. Also, only saw one trash can and ball washer the entire round.
May explain some of the cans and trash seen in some of the rough areas. Would help to have several of them around the course.
Playing from the white tees much easier for a senior like myself.

Overall very nice course. Only complaint is tee areas are small and not in very great shape. Fairways very nice for this time of year and greens in nice condition also.

I'll tell you what ShadowGlen is the real deal. Best fairways in this city and that includes courses that cost twice as much I'm dead serious. What they've managed to do with this place in the past year is remarkable, I hadn't been out here in 10 months and couldn't believe what kind of shape this course was in. And that's coming from someone who plays Forest Creek and Star every week. It's always been a top layout in Austin (especially back 9) and its nice to see it live up to its potential

Back 9
Having played 8 courses while in Austin for 3 weeks, this back 9 was the best we’ve played.

Unbelievable Fairways greatstaff I felt it was like June in Austin out there the greens were amazing! Very impressed with the maintenance crew and pro shop gentleman. They all need a raise!!
Nice course. Was busy but the round moved through at a good pace.
Greens and Faiways are in pretty good shape for December.
Shadowglen 12/21/29
I teed off at 1:48 and left the course with 4 holes not played at 6:00. The pace of play was frustrating.
First time and enjoyed
Went after rain, course was wet but in good condition will return
Exciting layout
I took the advice from online review of top 10 best course to play in Austin.
Indeed, it was worth it. The fairway had green grass in this cold weather plus the excellent green w a good speed.
