Old Brickyard Golf Course
About
Some argue that the tricked-up golf course has no place in today’s game, but they might change their mind after visiting the eclectic Old Brickyard. As the name implies, the course lays out in and around an old brickyard, featuring dramatic elevation changes, blind shots, and some unbelievable, almost impossible holes. This is one you’ll want to play just to say you’ve seen it.
The opening holes are pretty basic as you traverse northward before turning into the meat of the course, where the dramatic elevation changes start wreaking havoc on your club selection. After about the third or fourth hole, every hole seems to have some unique feature.
The Old Brickyard Lake comes into play on holes 9-11, some of the most difficult holes you’ll find anywhere. After you limp homeward suffering near-disasters on the tricky par 3 No. 8, which plays over water and seems to drop about 5 stories, and the demented 9th hole, which features a funky tee shot and challenging approach over water to a difficult green, No. 10 is not a welcome sight. Hole 10 plays from an elevated tee box, with water along the right. Water comes into play on the next two shots as well, since it cuts across the dogleg-right fairway. If you’re struggling, this is a double-digit hole for sure.
There’s no real break after No. 10, either. The 13th requires a precision short iron to a tiered green. More surprises await as you finish the round, so be prepared. The yard is a fun day of golf.
Getting there : Take I-45 south from Dallas to Ferris, then exit 267 and continue down the access road to the entrance on the right.

Very, Very Challenging Hole Photo submitted by fryersroost on 05/08/2013
Long time customer
Not sure what happen to this course. Ive been playing here for many years and 5-10 years ago this was one of the best courses around. Now its over priced and dead spots everywhere. This course had the nicest spongy greens, now they are alot of crows feet and dead spots. Fairways are in ok shape. For the price this aint it dont waste your time.
The course over priced
Great layout but not kept up. It was not worth 70 dollars at all.
Dump
This course was the only course with a tee time before 8:00am on a weekend and I can see why. The layout is very confusing and the course punishes you off the tee if you’re not straight. If you are in Dallas and want to play somewhere new, this isn’t the place.
Brickyard
As always, I enjoyed my round of golf. We went off early and played by ourselves. For me it’s a challenging course. All the hills make it fun. I would recommend it to anyone who enjoys a cha.
Such a Fun Unique Course
I golf 2 times weekly and rarely ever leave reviews. Just played Old Brick for the first time in about 2 years and it’s in great shape. Greens are excellent other than 1.
The course has a lot of elevation and some unique holes. It will definitely test your skills with alot of blind shots and water that comes into play.
Hole 10 should be a par 6 lol.
Play it and enjoy. Thank me later
Payment refund
I was charged for this tee time that I didn’t make. I have played here several times when I reached out no one could assist and golf now is impossible to reach.
Great Shape for Summer
Played The Old Brickyard this week and the course was in great shape for the hot and dry summer we have been in lately. Greens were good, fairways were even better and the tee boxes did not require a hammer to insert you tee into the ground. Staff was friendly and played in 3hrs 50min. with many other seniors out on the course as well. Keep up the good work, I will be back soon..
Wasted Potential
This course has solid elevation change for Texas, but the hey do little to nothing to trim back the insane amount of over growth all over the course. You can play Stevens park for this same price and it’s night and day what the conditions are. The staff can be standoffish and I’ve seen flies sitting in the coffee pot. No one cares to better this course apparently.
Great Shape for August
Played the old brickyard Saturday morning with some friends. Course was in really good shape considering the heat and compared to the other courses I have played recently. Greens were some of the better ones I have played this year on the public side. I paid $55 for a 7:45 tee time on the weekend, in my opinion is a great deal. I usually have to pay $75 to $100 for that time if I go north of Downtown Dallas. Saw the cart girl 2 times and the service was good (beer was only $4 and was cold). Will definitely be back. I want to play #10 again, it's one of the best par 5 around with having to hit 3 shots over water on the same hole to get to the green.
Not my favorite
Very weird layout of a course. It sits in the valley of a landfill. Just doesn’t look like it was a piece of land designed to be a golf course. Guess they call it brickyard for a reason, there is bricks everywhere even in the fairways.
Keep up the good work
Course has come a long ways since just last year. Amazing course fun and fairways are actually really nice. Greens were just punched...but overall 4 out of 5
