Old Brickyard Golf Course

I'm from Fort Worth, so this course is rarely on my radar. It's a bit of a drive, but definitely worth it. Challenging course with better than expected conditions. Full range and friendly staff. I teed off behind a tournament which is why I rated the pace of play poorly. Not the course's fault. Check it, you won't be disappointed. Unless you're a golf snoot...

Grounds keeper needs improvement, lots of rough spots. Greens pretty good and fast too. Pricey on short notice booking for what we got, staff not caustic as some reviews but not making a lot of friends either. Had to trade carts as we couldn’t steer it, loose wheel.

There need to be a Marshall to speed up the pace of play especially when have a charity event. I spend over 5 hours playing behind want to be professional PGA group of non golfers. They should have offered a refund or rain check anyone who wasn't playing in charity event because this was an tortures to play behind.

As usual the course was challenging for me. They have made some good improvements to the cart paths.

The course was is a descent shape after the first hole(just the time of year). The layout is fun. Well worth the money.

The course was good overall. I was walking to the green on the hole in front of the club house and had a ball travel over my head about 2 feet at an extremely high rate of speed. We didn't realize until hole 10 a group of 4 were standing in the grass in front of the main building hitting balls off the cliff into the "water" except they were hitting left of the water directly at us on the tee box. We had to dodge multiple balls, and had to move on to prevent getting hit. Luckily no one in my group was drinking our that would have absolutely started a fight. I really enjoyed the course, but probably wont return. To allow a group of guys to do that for as long as they did is wrong.

The course was way too booked up, causing pace of play to be very stressful. We also had to wait 15+ minutes for our cart after the assigned tee time. More staff would help. Never saw a beverage cart the entire time. The greens were not well kept at all.

Got a great deal in terms of price and thought I’d check it out. I’m not a golf snob in the slightest, but this was the worst course I’ve ever seen. Terrible conditions where if you hit it straight down the fairway there’s a >90% chance you won’t find your ball. This was the first time ever that I’ve had to stop playing before ending a round solely due to course conditions. Please, please save your money and do not fall for the this course unless your only goal is to get out of the house and drink.

Course layout is a challenge for first timers

Love this course and for the price you can’t beat it. It did take some beating from the Texas winter with all the grass being thin. They just did a lot of renovations this past year and they did a good job so can’t knock them for it too hard. Greens are also under attack by some weeds. Hopefully come end of April/May they will have it in good shape. That staff is super nice and super helpful and know that the course isn’t in the best shape, but they are doing the best they can.
