Vacation play
On vacation down in Florida I played this course last year with a friend He's not here this year. It's a nice course but too many out of bounds there's houses everywhere some of the holes are tricky You hit driver you hit it too far you get into water kind of tight not a lot of places to bail. Is in great shape the greens were excellent just don't like a lot of out of bounds on a golf course that's all.
It would be nice if there was tips on the scorecard for how to play each hole especially since you only play it once a year once it would really help to have a A little coarse knowledge during your round.
Pleasant surprise
Calusa Lakes was in great shape. Greens were a tad slow for my liking, but they tracked pretty true. Pace of play was very good. We played in mid-April, so a lot of the seasonal players were gone.
We made it around in about 4:15, and only waited on the last 4 holes. Pro Shop staff was friendly, as was the restaurant staff. We didn’t eat, but they poured a good cocktail. I’d definitely play there again for $80, but like most of the Venice courses, I’d pass if it was $100.
Buffalo Boys
Course layout was great. Greens are
In excellent shape - green, firm, and fast. Fairways are in generally good shape although a couple had some burned out areas. Rough areas were a little burned out as well. But overall I think the course was pretty good and I would recommend playing and worth the money.
Best course in the area.
Played all the sister courses and this is hands down the better of the bunch. The only thing I had any issues with was that the round took about 5 hours. With that being said the area is 90% people over the age of 65 and they don't get around like they used to. Funny part about the round is I found the Marshall on hole 15 taking a cat nap in the shade.
Loved the course. Friendly staff and especially enjoyed the variety of holes.
Very nice conditions
This course was very well maintained. The fairways and greens were excellent.
Very slow play
We really like the course but the pace of play is painfully slow. The ranger comes around but is oblivious to slow players. We had 3 groups stacked up with the group in front playing multiple balls and standing around talking for several minutes between shots. Not the first time we experienced this situation. Won’t be in a hurry to go back anytime soon
Great local course
This course is in great shape, pace of play was great, and it was a good value on Golf Now.
