El Rio Golf Club
About
El Rio Golf Course in Fort Myers is a player-friendly layout that will appeal to players of all skill levels. It's an ideal course for beginners who are looking to get in some practice on a full-length course. The layout consists of mostly par 3s and most of the holes are on the shorter side. Though it's a seemingly simple design, the greens have slopes that range from subtle to dramatic, which can make determining your approach to them a daunting task. Trees that line the fairways demand accuracy but the landing areas are generous. El Rio Golf Course has a pace of play that makes it convenient if you're looking for a quick round and the layout is gentle enough for beginners, and even junior players, to tackle with confidence.

Slow greens
The putts on this day had very little break. I learned to hit strait at the hole for best results.
El Rio
Greens were semi burnt. Tee boxes we're all hacked up very little grass on them. places we're nothing but sand. course it's very tight. a lot of par three's, 0nly 3000 yards

Good Value Executive
For the price, the El Rio is a good course. Overall the course is pretty easy but they did make a few of the greens a little tougher to add a little challenge. For a quick cheap round, I would go again.
El Rio is what it is...
El Rio is what it is... Its not trying to be anything else. The course is old I don't know exactly when but you feel as though you're transported back to the 1950's-60's-70'ish. The Greens are very slow, carpet like in feel & appearance, some holes have undulation, most are straight in with barely any ball movement. It's a rather short course with many par 3's & some par 4's. I've played this course many many times in the summer when the price is 20/25$ for 18 holes. They have a small driving range & a small putting green to warm up. The Staff is friendly & helpful. They have everything you will need to play golf. They have alot of regulars here. If you're itching to get out and play & cannot afford $100 plus a round then El Rio has you covered. Like I say it is what it is and not what it's not. You can play golf here. It's El Rio. The River. Great course for the beginner. Get someone into the game, El Rio will help.

Great Bang for the Buck
Great bang for the buck, certainly won’t be my last time.
Fun day
First time playing in FL from New Jersey. Friendly staff and nice place. Greens are nice and green and fast.
Great value for a fun course that is easy to walk!
This is a fun little course .Everyone working there is welcoming and friendly,
We like it because it is a nice change to be able to walk instead of riding in a golf cart..
Compared to other courses this has good value..you could almost say it is cheap..
A fun course to walk
OK
Course is a little rough around the edges. Good/Bad... Very dry but loosing your ball in a water hazard is unlikely! My wife and I had a nice time even though it was very slow. Cheers!!

Nice Exec Course
Never had a bad experience at El Rio.
Well maintained, excellent staff, a bargain in my opinion.
Will be back again!
Very enjoyable course but was crowded which made for slow play. Players were hitting balls out of creeks that had no water in them. Those balls would normally have been in the water therefore a player should take a penalty stroke and hit another ball. I thought this contributed to the over all slow play.
We appreciate you taking the time to review the course and rate us. We are going to pass on your feedback to the team. Thanks for visiting El Rio Golf Club, and we hope to see you again in the future.
