El Rio Golf Course in Fort Myers is a player-friendly layout that will appeal to players of all skill levels. It's an ideal course for beginners who are looking to get in some practice on a full-length course. The layout consists of mostly par 3s and most of the holes are on the shorter side. Though it's a seemingly simple design, the greens have slopes that range from subtle to dramatic, which can make determining your approach to them a daunting task. Trees that line the fairways demand accuracy but the landing areas are generous. Ok for the money
El Rio Golf course is an executive course that plays more difficult than you would expect. The course is in fair condition, the only issue was on the greens where there were several patches where sand was covering repairs. It did not seem to affect play. Busy course, waited on every tee, but we were not in a hurry so it did not affect our scores. Staff was friendly and helpful. I would play it again
Either you’re first or last
Either you tee off soon as the course opens or not until 3. Once they’re out of carts you’re either walking or or waiting an hour to tee off. Don’t book a tee time before 3 if you want a cart and a decent pace of play. Still a pretty course and is taken care of. Just have a plan b if you’re making a tee time for a busy time like I did.

Nice course.
Some golfers not as considerate as most. My pars and one over par should indicate to a foursome ahead of me who took many more strokes that they should let me play through. Nothing said.

Have played here 3 times in the last 5 weeks, book an afternoon tee time and have had no issues. The greens are coming along pretty nice and the tee boxes are a little beat up but not a outing killer. There was a storm that came thru the day before so there was a lot of debris on the site. They did clear the fairways and greens off. Easy to get around if you pay attention to the booked tee times.
