El Rio Golf Course in Fort Myers is a player-friendly layout that will appeal to players of all skill levels. It's an ideal course for beginners who are looking to get in some practice on a full-length course. The layout consists of mostly par 3s and most of the holes are on the shorter side. Though it's a seemingly simple design, the greens have slopes that range from subtle to dramatic, which can make determining your approach to them a daunting task. Nice course
This course is a fun course to play. It's executive so not very long overall. It's in relative good condition and the greens are a little beat up but generally in good shape.. Will play this course again.
Snowbird golf
I am a full time resident in Florida and a native. This time a year it is hard to get on our local courses but we got on at El Rio after I made a reservation. No issues, I have played this course for over 20 years. The course was in decent shape, their staff is working on some of the greens but no big deal. We were a foursome and did not have to wait to get off the tee box. We rotate at different courses in the area and will be back to El Rio in the near future.
Decent little course
I’ve played at El Rio many times, mostly because it’s convenient and affordable. They were top-dressing the greens with sand, which took away from our last experience. Play can be anywhere from tortoise-slow to lightening-fast, depending on day/time. Overall, a good little course for a quick golf fix.

Nice workout for irons
Nice course to get your irons together. Greens A little beat up and slow but overall A nice course for the money. Not crowded at all.
Not bad
Played with another couple. My girl and the couple are relative beginners so it was a good track for them to play. Pretty nice layout. Greens could use a little work. Tee boxes were terrible. Fairways not too bad. Overall a pretty good value.

Horrible Play
Course had just been punched, which we weren't notified of at any point. Way over priced for the conditions of the greens. The greens are dried and mostly sandy. The fairways are cart paths and the staff was rude. Over heard him say he overcharged a group since they were slow and he wasn't going to "let an opportunity" slip away. First time playing this course and will never go back.
