El Rio Golf Club

About
El Rio Golf Course in Fort Myers is a player-friendly layout that will appeal to players of all skill levels. It's an ideal course for beginners who are looking to get in some practice on a full-length course. The layout consists of mostly par 3s and most of the holes are on the shorter side. Though it's a seemingly simple design, the greens have slopes that range from subtle to dramatic, which can make determining your approach to them a daunting task. Trees that line the fairways demand accuracy but the landing areas are generous. El Rio Golf Course has a pace of play that makes it convenient if you're looking for a quick round and the layout is gentle enough for beginners, and even junior players, to tackle with confidence.

Tbox greens
Tbox don’t exist at this time regrowing them playing off fairways but these areas are Worn out. Greens in bad shape. Tbox regrassing shoukd of been done in the Summer when low play was observed. Will not play this again. But somehow the Course was very Busy maybe for the price we paid $20 on Golfnow. Maybe everyone else was too
Disappointed
We booked online not knowing they had temporarily tee blocks due to the original tee blocks being seeded. This making the course even shorter than what it already is. We asked for a raincheck for say or a discount for another time when they would be back to normal but they didn't care and said no...Around the greens is vined weeds to crab grass so not nice for chipping on. We had a foursome in front of us that had no golf etiquette and wouldn't let us play through...Once the original tee blocks open up it would be a great $20 course to play on but not worth any more than that....
Course condition
The course is in good shape but they are working on the tee boxes and they have temporary ones that are not in the best of condition.
Fast play and working to improve course
Got in a super fast round just over two hours. Looks like the courses trying to improve the conditions. All the boxes were under reconstruction. Great place to get a quick round in.
Great course for the money
If you’re looking to work on your irons and short game this is your place. Small greens, surrounded by sand. Accurate irons a must for this course, unless you’re working on your short game. Overall, great value for the money and staff was extremely friendly.
Shorter than ever!
There are temporary tee blocks, making the course even shorter than originally. The greens are in rough shape, too.
