El Rio Golf Club
About
El Rio Golf Course in Fort Myers is a player-friendly layout that will appeal to players of all skill levels. It's an ideal course for beginners who are looking to get in some practice on a full-length course. The layout consists of mostly par 3s and most of the holes are on the shorter side. Though it's a seemingly simple design, the greens have slopes that range from subtle to dramatic, which can make determining your approach to them a daunting task. Trees that line the fairways demand accuracy but the landing areas are generous. El Rio Golf Course has a pace of play that makes it convenient if you're looking for a quick round and the layout is gentle enough for beginners, and even junior players, to tackle with confidence.

Nice course.
Great course to play. Hope your short game is fair. Very challenging and fun to your ego. I do recommend playing here.
Short game practice and friendly staff
I always pop in for a couple swings while visiting family without spending 4-5 hours out. Makes you realize how terrible your short game is. All the staff are super friendly and will always go back to see them.
I love this course!
I love this course and the staff. They are always so accommodating.
Course in distress.
This course is extremely in distress due to draught conditions. It' was in the poorest condition that I have ever seen. Fairways are mostly dead grass or bare dirt. Greens have been aerated but they have received no water so that they can again fill in. I would recommend this course only.after the rains have started. I don't see any way that this course can be healed until Mother Nature can assist.
Course in Good Condition
Course in good condition. Pace of play was very good that afternoon.
Convenient and fun little Exec Course
El Rio gets lots of public play and course is in pretty good shape, considering all the public play. It looks like a pretty straight-forward course, but it does have its fair shar of obstacles and hazards! Back 9 is much tighter than front 9. Off-course amenities include a putting green and driving range, but be careful on hole 10 as the driving range is parallel to the 10 fairway! Carts or you can walk it easy enough too. The course is tucked behind a city neighborhood and has some lovely scenery. This course is very close to home and is very convenient for us to play and reasonably priced. It's not Augusta...and then...most of us aren't Tiger!
