Country Club of Silver Springs Shores
About
Opened in 1969, the Country Club at Silver Springs Shores has been host to a variety of mini-tour and U.S. Open Section qualifying events. It is known for having some of the fastest and most severe greens in the area. Desmond Muirhead, a longtime associate of Jack Nicklaus, designed the golf course, giving it a different character on the front and back nines. The first half of the golf course is a traditional parkland layout that mixes native trees and wide-open meadows. The back nine is a true Florida-style golf course with water coming into play on six holes. Country Club at Silver Springs Shores finishes with one of its toughest water holes, a par 5 starts with an intimidating tee shot past a massive lake that wraps around the landing area. Many locals consider Silver Springs Shores to be one of the best public golf courses in the Ocala area.

Golfer Reviews
Silver Springs
Cart paths are in disrepair. Fairways are not great but the greens are good. The lakes are weedy. The club house is fair condition and the staff was friendly. Price is a high for these conditions.
Nice course
Nice course with good value. Restaurant/bar waitresses were very good.
SLOWER then the normal SLOW!!, On a Saturday per the Ranger, Course actually let 2 or 3 sets of six somes out to play 3 man team best ball teams … we jumped holes to get around them just to get done in 4.5 hours
Cart paths, rough & access paths are worse than the last time I played there but I enjoy the layout of the course-better weather conditions than the day before so the golf itself was more enjoyable
Rough ride
The course was in great shape what is the cart paths are pretty rough.
For the right price
Yes I would recommend the course, but only for less than $30. 1st the bad. The rough was playable for the most part, but was extremely burnt-out. The greens were in good shape, but the slowest I've encountered since early spring @ Scotland Yard (slowww). Cartpath's horrible. Now the good. Very good layout. I enjoyed the holes. Most of the fairways in pretty good shape. I'll give them 4 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 's. Staff was friendly. I'm sure I'll be back 😌
Fun Course
The course was in good condition from tee to green. The bunkers were not raked but that was really the only issue. The cart girl was great and we saw her four time. The bar was open at the turn and was very friendly. Good value and pace of play was fast!
Only bad thing about that course is the cart path.
The course is in perfect shape
Best for the price
You can’t find a better condition and layout, very challenging and very good greens . I love this course
Very good
The greens were smooth and true. Fairways were in great condition. Will definitely play again.
Very nice course, but a little disappointed that we have to play the back nine twice due to a High School competition,I would love to go back
Great course
Course is in great condition. Fairways , greens are perfect. Not an easy course. But a great course. If u want to play a real golf course , try this one.
