About
Opened in 1969, the Country Club at Silver Springs Shores has been host to a variety of mini-tour and U.S. Open Section qualifying events. It is known for having some of the fastest and most severe greens in the area. Desmond Muirhead, a longtime associate of Jack Nicklaus, designed the golf course, giving it a different character on the front and back nines. The first half of the golf course is a traditional parkland layout that mixes native trees and wide-open meadows. The back nine is a true Florida-style golf course with water coming into play on six holes. Country Club at Silver Springs Shores finishes with one of its toughest water holes, a par 5 starts with an intimidating tee shot past a massive lake that wraps around the landing area. Many locals consider Silver Springs Shores to be one of the best public golf courses in the Ocala area.

Nice layout.
Nice layout and only 1 flat green on the course. Challenging with all the water. A great test for your skills. It is short by today's standards but greens are deceiving and placement is key to a good round.
Marketing suggestion
Marketing suggestion: you should get some cheap sunglasses in stock
And also make a clear area for cart drop off.. I didn't know where to go when I was done so I went back up to the pro shop to ask and the guy said park it in the lineup and after I did that somebody else lectured me about how I had to be washed still and how I had to move it. Would have saved me the hassle and the confusion if there was a sign and maybe a key drop box
No fun today
Played in a twosome. It took us 5 hours to play 18. There were reportedly 4 foursomes ahead of us. I asked started if we could start from 10 which was open with only a twosome just leaving the 9th teebox. He said he couldn't do that because he would get in trouble and it was just as backed up. Extremely slow. Could not get in any rythm waiting ten minutes on each tee box. Lousy day of golf.
Not bad.
A huge storm just came through so there was stuff all over the course. I’m sure it won’t be that way for long. Outside of that. The greens were in excellent shape. A good bit of monkey grass on the fairways and iffy off the fairways. But overall good course for the amount I paid. Through golf now hot deal.

I loved this course. Not perfect, but very good shape and playable.
Great course lousy cart paths
The course itself was in pretty good shape despite numerous bumps in the fairways. The cart path were the worst I have ever seen, you were better stay off of them and riding along the bumpy grass.
