Well kept golf coarse
Golf coarse was great condition. The staff very friendly and accommodating. Great value for your buck.
Great Course
The course was in excellent condition, we love the layout. Unfortunately we were a twosome behind 3 sets of 5 some. we were on the course for 4 hours in a hundred and five degree index . ugh.
Course
Very nice course, I like it. Had 3 temporary greens, but was told ahead of time.
Stonebrook
Had we known condition of greens, we may have passed on this opportunity to play. Played here a couple years back and it seems to have declined for conditions. Several greens in pretty poor condition. Fairways not as nice as I recall. Like the layout but needs some work. Pace was great on front nine but a couple of twosomes sent out in front of us on back slowed things down
Friendliest Staff
Staff is very welcoming and friendly, I paid for a cart but was allowed to walk the front 9 and when it got to hot for me, I was able to get a cart on the back 9. AWESOME
The course is very picturest with plenty of water
The course was in good shape, the sand in the bunkers was hard and crusty, hard to hit out of. But other wise the fairways and greens were in good shape. Unfortunately my partner got called into work, so we only got in about 12 holes.
Great course.
I've played Stonebrook several times over the years and I keep going back because I know the course will be in good shape no matter what time of year. Staff is always friendly. We had a good burger and beer for a reasonable price after the round.
What a Gem!
Very playable and enjoyable course that is in very good shape. You can tell that the management a) knows what they are doing because they have great personnel in the pro shop and b) listen to the greenskeepers and not afraid to spend money on the course.
Slow Play
Two fivesomes in front of us, a twosome. The lead fivesome ended up over two holes ahead of the fivesome in front of us, and the group in front of us would never wave us through. No course marshal.
Stonebrook
Course was in good shape for February. Staff was great very friendly and helpful. I would play the course again at anytime like the layout Ann the greens are very nice. The price was great and to get a starting time at 8:38 am on a Sunday was fantastic
Excellent
Stone brook is always a great place to play. They always have excellent greens and the course is very well maintained. Course has a lot of water hazards accompanied by beautiful scenery. Check it out if you haven't played it yet!
Don't play here!
They have lost 80% of their greens and the makeshift greens aren't puttable! They should not charge more than $10 to play here as the greens are so poor! I felt lucky to get rained out after 9 holes!
I really liked this course
As long as I have lived in this area, this was my first round at Stonebrook. I was initially impressed walking into the pro shop. It seemed very well stocked (I didn't check out prices) and the staff there were very friendly. I was next impressed when I went to the range before my round. The balls they handed me were all clean and in excellent condition. They have a great driving range on grass, and there is actually grass there! It looks like they have a huge area in which to move the ropes, insuring that there is grass to hit off of. There were two putting greens (I did not check to see if one allowed chipping) that seemed to mimic the speed of the on course greens very closely.
As for the course itself, it's a pretty nice layout. A good variety of tees (6891 yards from the back) and I really liked a lot of the holes there.
The only "con" I would have about the entire round was the greens. You can tell they had some type of issue, as there are a lot of greens with "patches" being filled in, and a few greens had some bare spots. The greens seemed slightly slower than what I am normally used to playing, but the rolled decently.
Other than the slight issues with the greens, everything else about the course was (in my opinion) excellent! The fairways were very nice, good tee boxes, and a few holes that have some risk/reward for even an average hack like myself.
Overall, it was a great experience, and if I lived closer, I could spend some time on that range!
Nice find
I hooked up with two regulars which was nice because they knew the layout of the course . I enjoyed the course and could tell that they have been working on the greens , there where not many bad areas except "very slow". Will look forward to playing this course again. Thanks for a pleasant day of golf Stonebrook.
YOU HAVE TO PLAY HERE
The pro shop presents itself as the Taj Mahal of pro shops. It is well-stocked with goodies and very comfortable. The staff are welcoming to regulars and newcomers alike: they let my friend and me tee off in front of a tournament group to alleviate slow play for us. But I can't say enough about the course itself. The fairways are absolutely lovely because they are well-kept and well-seeded. The greens, although slow, were consistently slow from hole to hole, offering one the chance to adjust accurately to their condition. Overall, the course is brilliantly laid-out and offers beautiful views and challenges to the newbie and veteran alike. I will definitely return to this course, even if I have to pay full price!
water on 13 is an opticial issulation
overall course was in very good condition greens great fairways wide nice for most gplfers
Great course layout
I played this course for the first time and found it to be a very interesting layout. It had a good variety of holes which included many left and right doglegs. There were some short par fours that were not necessarily easy. The fairways were in pretty good shape but I was a little dissatisfied with the greens. They were very slow and a little bumpy which made them difficult to putt. Overall it was a fun course to play and I will definitely play it again.
Course
Enjoyed playing the course for the first time, and will go back
Sorry - But you shouldn't rate the COURSE badly because of this, There are no "priorities" given for groups less than a 4-some and you should expect to spend 4-hours on average at any course to play 18 holes no matter if you are a single player or a 5-some. Your 2-some was not privileged and if you are in a hurry - SKIP holes and move in front - but far enough to not impede those you skipped ahead of. No course marshal ? Call the clubhouse or stop in if you don't have a cell phone. But keep your comments to Staff and Course conditions to better all of our experiences. OR - Get the early tee times and you will have less people in front of you.
