About
Honoring the wishes of Lela and Charles Hilton, Legacy Golf Club is named in honor of their beloved son "Chip." He started playing daily at age 9 with a genuine love and excitement for the sport. He was on the Bay High School golf team, apprenticing with golf pro-Kenny Lind and made golf his vocation. As a professional golf instructor, he taught his students invaluable life lessons, emphasizing that golf is not a game of perfection but a comeback. He also believed golf was more than just a game; it was full of essential life skills such as patience, perseverance, determination, and overcoming obstacles and setbacks.
The golf club, established in 1965, is a championship course with challenging greens designed to test golfers with even the sharpest short-game skills. The fairways are generously sized with lakes and white sand bunkers that fiercely guard the elevated greens. Players should be prepared to use every club in their bag. The golf course is challenging but fair and enjoyable, making it a good test of skill without inciting frustration. Its playability, enhanced with three sets of tees, has made it one of Florida's most popular tracks. Legacy Golf Club also boasts extensive practice facilities, including a lighted driving range, chipping green, expansive putting green, Executive Course, and Bar and Grille.

Always Fun
Always a quick pace in the afternoons as fewer golfers choose The Meadows in the afternoon...great value for late tee times.
Greens are very nice and the course is actually more challenging than what you would think from the card
Nice course
Enjoyed the course. Greens and fairways in excellent condition. Pace of play good. A little overpriced compared to its competition in the area, especially having to pay for range balls in addition to the green fees. Getting a Golf Now hot deal makes it doable but the rack rate is high.
A Must Play Course While in Panama City
The staff was cordial and the check-in went smooth. Tee times were on schedule and the pace of play was great. The course is relatively flat and as the fairways are not over seeded they are dormant and brown as you would expect in January, but are still playable although sometimes you may have to roll the ball a little; there were just enough water hazards to make it interesting. The tee boxes were well taken care of; and the sand traps with their sugar white sand were in great shape. The greens were in great shape and very green; they were semi-fast with some subtle breaks.
Fairways not over seeded...
The course is very flat and the fairways are not over seeded so they are dormant and brown. They are still playable if you roll the ball a little. The greens were very green and have subtle breaks and semi-fast with false edges just to keep you on your toes. Pace of play was good.
Great course, slow play
Greens were fast & smooth. Takes some thought to play this one. Slow play due to a couple of fivesomes and one foursome that was very slow. Good value for the price.
Slowplay
Our tee time was pushed back 20 minutes. Pace was extremely slow; waited on every shot. Was not able to finish the round; left after fourteen holes.
Pace of Play
It took us 3 hours to finish the front nine. They had a ranger on the course but he just waived to us as he drove by. We had two groups on every tee box. Very frustrating. The course is in winter conditions with the grass on the fairway and rough dead.The greens however were in great shape. The layout was good but we couldn't enjoy the day when it was hit the ball and then wait 10 minutes for the next shot.
Nice layout and not too difficult
Other than the course being in winter conditions, it was a fun course to play. They haven't had time to clean up the millions of pine cones lying around, somif you go off the fairway, be prepared to wrestle with them.
Nice Course at Good Price
The course was in good condition, especially the greens. I arrived early and they let me play early. which I like. Good value by going through Golf Now.
pace of play
The course overbooked and had 3 teams of 4 on every hole. nobody could paly it was hit and stand waiting on your next hit. this course was obvious after money not making people happy. Jan. 2nd was the best day for at least a week and they stuck it to all of us by allowing to many people on the course. it was the staffs problem not he customers.
Course was in relatively good shape. Tee boxes were lacking grass. Bunkers had great soft sand.
No memorable holes.

Course is in great shap phase was slow but for the money ok
operators allowed to many to play
the course was ou to make money and allowed more people than usual to tee off. so it put 3 teams of 4 on every hole. this should not happen. it took 3 hours to play 9 holes to much standing with no rhythm in your game. every person should have got there money back. if it was experienced players then this could have been different. amateurs made this impossible.
Must play
The course is in phenomenal shape and the greens were rolling true!
