Crystal Lake Golf & Country Club sprawls across a scenic landscape of native wetlands, an abundance of hardwood trees, and a generous smattering of meandering creeks and sparkling lakes. The beautiful terrain sets it apart from other golf courses in the Atlanta area. The course is known for the numerous grass-walled bunkers filled with pristine white sand that are strategically placed throughout. The player-friendly greens are wide and approachable, but there is the occasional multi-tier to watch out for. The generous nature of the greens also allows for a variety of pin placements. The natural features of the landscape at Crystal Lake Golf & Country Club not only provide beautiful scenery but they also make for a more interesting game since they require you to get creative with your shot-making, especially when trying to figure out how to handle some of the tricky carries.

Great layout, fun to play
Great layout makes the course difficult, yet fun to play. Some challenging holes to start off, but transitions to a much more manageable back 9. Some fairways are pretty hard and firm, but not really any bare spots. Greens roll smooth and true. Only complaint I have is the amount of pitch marks left on some greens. I have fixed as many as 10 on one hole without taking more than 5 or 6 steps. There is some home construction going on on some holes, but it doesn’t feel like it is right on top of you. I also wish 18 was laid out better, a forced 300 yard carry from the tips, or hit a hybrid off the tee leaving about 270 to the green. I feel like if it was only 270-280 carry it would make it more tempting to try and carry the penalty area and have a go at the last par 5 in 2. I do always enjoy playing here though, one of the nicest courses in Henry County.

Nice all around experience.
First couple of holes have blind tee shots. Some later holes are pretty wide open. You kind of get it all here. The layout is a five star, the course conditions i.e. some tee boxes and fairways knock it down to a 4 star. Greens were good, sand was fair. Looking forward to play it again.

Challenging course
This is a great course, well maintained, scenery is gorgeous.
Fairway well kept, and not the traditional flat surface, you will find yourself with ball position above or below your feet.
Greens are fast, but will hold the ball, so go for the pin, it plays a little longer due to the elevation of the greens.
Overall, good course.

Needs some work
The fairways were very rough and need attention. Need water, fertilizer, and some very hot weather to make the Bermuda pop. A good value for the money if purchased at the lower price.

Mixed Bag
My guess is the course was really nice back in its hay day. Pace of play was one of the slowest I’ve ever been part of anywhere. Weeds I’ve never ever seen before we’re frequent. Distance markers virtually non existent. Greens still really bumpy and virtually unplayable. By the end as we drove our hand-me-down cart from another course and kept score with a pencil from the Fayetteville Golf Club it was just comical. Cross the bridges on the path at your own peril.
We appreciate you taking the time to share your feedback with us, however, we're truly sorry to hear your recent experience with us did not meet expectations. All of your comments are appreciated by our staff as we continuously work towards course improvements, but we also encourage you to reach out to our pro shop staff at your convenience to address these directly as well. Slow play
Upon arriving we were told they backed up due to a tournament. So we warmed up onthe range and teed off 45 minutes late. 4.5 hour round followed. Course is great very challenging. Conditionswerefine fortime of year.

Need hot dry weather
The course is typical for most courses this time of year. Needs hot weather to make the Bermuda pop. Had aerated the greens about 2 weeks ago so still a little bumpy.

Aerated Greens
Greens were recently punched (larger holes) and can make shorter putts frustrating. Staff had allowed a “walk up” group of 40 or so golfers to tee off shotgun style, which caused scheduled tee times to be delayed by about 1 hour. Why?
I love the layout of this course, and it can be quite a test on windy days (like today). Hopefully, the greens will heal quickly.

aerated greens
I've played this course 20+ times and love it. I don't expect pristine conditions in February, but they recently aerated the greens and didn't mention it and did not give us a discount. I would not play again until the greens have grown back in.
