Crystal Lake Golf & Country Club sprawls across a scenic landscape of native wetlands, an abundance of hardwood trees, and a generous smattering of meandering creeks and sparkling lakes. The beautiful terrain sets it apart from other golf courses in the Atlanta area. The course is known for the numerous grass-walled bunkers filled with pristine white sand that are strategically placed throughout. The player-friendly greens are wide and approachable, but there is the occasional multi-tier to watch out for. The generous nature of the greens also allows for a variety of pin placements. The natural features of the landscape at Crystal Lake Golf & Country Club not only provide beautiful scenery but they also make for a more interesting game since they require you to get creative with your shot-making, especially when trying to figure out how to handle some of the tricky carries.

Great challenging course
Great course, I highly recommend. Challenging course with beautiful views. My buddy and I had a great round and will definitely be back.

Good Value for the Money
Played this course in the past and its always in decent shape. Fairways could use some improvement but overall not bad. Greens in good shape but not as fast as in the past.

Confused
After reading about course then I played in so disappointing the fairways are terrible the greens need work no water 85 degrees yesterday and they want 49 $

Bad course
Fairways are so bad sand on greens with some are just gone

Strategic Positioning
Played from the tips which makes the course interesting from the back. You must position your shots on the right side of the fairway to get a good approach shot in. Some holes were challenging but overall very moderate. Greens were recovering from being plugged, therefore bumpy. While not top of my list I would return to test the greens.

Crystal Lake Still Shines
I have played this course periodically over the last ten years. Currently, it is not in its best shape as the fairways do not seem to be coming in consistently and crab grass is prevalent. However, the greens are fine and this layout is so good that I always have fun playing it. Roll it around a little bit and swing away! Crystal Lake shines.

Terrible golf course
Don’t play it! Layout is good, but conditions all over are quite bad! Pro shop staff not friendly and no water offered in any form.
I won’t play it again not even for free!

Good course / bad conditions
Played the course today 3/14/20 and the greens were punched, but actually rolled decent. Too much crab grass in the fairways and bunkers were unplayable. Give them a month or two to get things back to normal.

Not ready for spring play
We play multiple times every year, this is our go to place. This was the 1st time out this year and the course was in the worst shape we have ever seen it over the last 5 years

Conditions not a 4-star
I love this course. One of the best courses south of I-20 in Atlanta. Unfortunately the course is not in great condition this week. I understand the the greens need to be aerated and the area has taken on a lot of rain over the past few week. What upsets me is when the course conditions are not properly stated online. This course had no sand in the bunkers, some were filled with water. The greens were recently aerated and were covered with sand. Had I know this, I would have went to another course. I booked on Golfnow and there was no mentioned of the aeration. Also the course was rated at 4-stars. It is at best a 3-star course today. Just wanted to alarm other golfers.

great course, minor flaw
I have played Crystal Lake many times in the past, including when the rough was extremely deep. The rough has been mowed down, making play a bit friendlier. Unfortunately, the current owners have let the bunkers go. Recommendation: don't hit out of the bunkers unless you don't care about your clubs. Rocks! Other than that, this course is very nice.
