Crystal Lake Golf & Country Club
About
Crystal Lake Golf & Country Club sprawls across a scenic landscape of native wetlands, an abundance of hardwood trees, and a generous smattering of meandering creeks and sparkling lakes. The beautiful terrain sets it apart from other golf courses in the Atlanta area. The course is known for the numerous grass-walled bunkers filled with pristine white sand that are strategically placed throughout. The player-friendly greens are wide and approachable, but there is the occasional multi-tier to watch out for. The generous nature of the greens also allows for a variety of pin placements. The natural features of the landscape at Crystal Lake Golf & Country Club not only provide beautiful scenery but they also make for a more interesting game since they require you to get creative with your shot-making, especially when trying to figure out how to handle some of the tricky carries.

So-So
This is an average course. However, keep in mind that it's quite hilly and you'll have to walk up and down those hills as the cart is governed to be very restrictive. You need to be in good physical health to play and enjoy this course.
Painted greens
The greens rolled true. But with the additive (or as I call it: paint), added to the greens, it was impossible to determine which way the grain runs.
Sometimes I guessed I was with the grain but after leaving my putt 15’ short, it was obvious I was putting against the grain.
Love the course though, it was a 1.5 hr drive and cannot wait to do so again.
Crystal Lake
Cart gps wasn’t working but teamed up with someone with a range finder thankfully.
No yardage markers at start of hole either so was really thankfully for getting paired with someone with knowledge of the course and a rangefinder
Other than that, nice course and would play again.
Decent golf with some nice holes
Crystal lake starts with a nice clubhouse. Driving range serves for warm-up, but not an actual grass range at least in mid-April. The course was in "ok" shape for spring time, but roughs were not punishing the players. Greens were slow, but no complaining on the quality otherwise. Please note the course does not return to clubhouse after 9 holes. Overall I could visit again as long as the prices will not increase.
Crystal Lake
Course was on very good shape. I always enjoy the layout. Challenging for all levels of golfers.
Good Course
The course is starting to green up nicely, fairways are filling in good. Played here 3 weeks ago it felt like hitting off concrete. The pace of play is horrible, 5 hour round are no fun.
pace
They had a tournament in front of us that they never told us about until we were ready to tee off. Tee time was over 20 minutes late. We usually play 18 holes in 3 1/2 hours at the most. We were out there for over 5 hours. It was ridiculous. My friend voiced his opinion and was accused of having a bad attitude. They were going to toss him out! I gave 2 stars instead of one for staff friendliness because of this 80 year old guy who was pretty cool about the whole thing.
I won't be back there for awhile if at all.
Course
Fairways were open and really dry. Greens were lush and fast. Very hard. So ball rolled really fast. Several holes were cart path only which made for a lot of walking. Several players ahead were very very slow. So had to wait sometimes over 10 minutes to actually T off. No cart person to bring food or beverages theu out the course. Vending machines at the between 9th and 10th were empty.
Future Play
The greens are in great shape going into the Spring. The fairways are thin but hopefully in May this will be improved. Overall if the conditions continue to improve this will be one of the better maintain public golf courses in the Atlanta area.
